How do you deal with "no faith"? It was difficult at first, but time has been good and I don't have issues with it no more. What do you put faith in? Myself and my family and a few friends How was you transition from belief to non belief? It was a slow meticulous process. I had been duped once before and I was going to make sure it did not happen again. Does it bother you that others have faith in God, and why? It only bothers me when folks treat their faith as undisputable fact. When I tell believers that I am not one, they often act shocked and want me to prove to them why I don't believe in God. In reality, it is the believers place to prove their assertions. If I told you that I believe in space aliens and that they help guide me and will one day return and
give me everlasting life, you would look at me strangely (and rightly so) and want me to provide some facts to back it up. But a believer can just substitute God and/or angels for my space aliens and expect me to believe that with no more proof than I have for E.T..

I'm happy for you and your experience. To each his own.
I received the Holy Spirit once, but he set up shop in my house and refused to pay his share of the rent. I had to get a court order to get him evicted. He retaliated by getting in me and making me say bad things en espanol to my neighbor.

You have no idea what you're getting yourself into
Fern is right. I myself slowly got immersed in this religion starting in 1982 and I did not fully wake up until ten years later. I wasted my early adulthood (early 20's through early 30's) peddling a religion that proclaimed itself as the truth, but once I began asking serious questions, they ran and basically told me to get lost. Ask them things like:
Why did Jesus, after supposedly "returning" in 1914, choose them as the true religion in 1919? And why would he choose them in 1919 when they were teaching that he had returned in 1874 and were in the process of putting forth more false prophecies, i.e. 1918, 1920 and 1925?
Why are all of their false date settings passed off as "over eagerness" and everyone elses is "false prophecies?
Before 1970, women who divorced their husbands for practicing homosexuality and remarried were disfellowshipped. When "new light" in circa 1970 said this behavior was grounds for divorce, why did they not reinstate the ones who were wrongly disfellowshipped?
If I deside later this is not for me, will I be shunned?

who likes Battlestar Gallactica?
by Dogpatch ini am curious how many of you watch this.
i find it far more fascinating than many other shows, but i am biased, always had a flair for traditional horror as well as quality sc-fi.
but the producers intentionally dumb down the special effects (filmed in hd but virtually posterized for effect outdoors) so as to focus on the plot lines and character development.

My wife is a freak for the show. According to her, it's the best Sci-Fi show ever. It really chaps her when I ask "What's Selena's dad (Ed Almos) up to lately?"

Clothing in the New Order
by donny inthe society teaches that once the new order is up and running, we will achieve perfection as adam and eve once were.
if thats the case, why do they portray folks in the new order as fully clothed?
i thought clothing was the result of sin, so once sin is eliminated, should not clothing be also?

What really amused me was showing women in high heels in the new order. What kind of God would allow a woman to wear high heels knowing how uncomfortable and bad for your feet and legs they are.

Best JW tall story/variations of it?
by KW13 indont just list one, list them all so we can laugh because in all honesty i can't believe we believed some of them.
for example, i was told annie lennox stopped a concert to ask if there was any jw's in the audience, and if there was could they leave as they were stopping the demons getting through...is this even remotely true?
did annie lennox ask the jw's in the audience to move because they were stopping the snack lady getting through...and it got twisted through chinese whispers.... the other day (i felt sick) one witness was banging on about how amazing it was that the watchtower society's building was the only one standing still...wtf...my stepdad responded with a 'wow thats amazing' and the first brother was like 'yeah i know'...grrrrrrrrr aaaaaaaah screaaaaaaaaam .

An elder went to call on a family experiencing demon problems. The elder stood at the front door with the Bible and yelled at the top of his voice, "In the name of Jehovah I command you to leave this house and never return." At that all the books in the house began flying off the shelves. Books flying off shelves. Always books flying off shelves for some reason. Demons just love to knock books off shelves. Then the door flew open and came off its hinges, screen flapping and such. It was the demons leaving the house without closing the door, uncooth bastards.
Why could I have not experienced any of these exciting moments? All I got to experience was my ex-wife hearing demons talk to her.
