New to site - letting it out

it is interesting to read the comments of so many who are no longer "in the truth".

i have not associated for 18 years but as my parents are still very much "in the truth".

i never disassociated myself as i feel to do so is to acknowledge some form of official status over me.

Can appreciate so much what you're saying - the ''so wanting'' the future, they cannot enjoy the present. Am sorry to hear that one of your parents is having to undergo surgery - must be a difficult time for you all.

You made me laugh though :-

When I was serrously injured in a motorcyle accident my mothers comment was there would have been an up side if I had been killed - I would have gotten a resurection. Did I mention "INSANE". .....
The saddest thing is that my father consideres himself a failure; why? because his two sons, both happily married, with childern, no afairs, not one arrest, sucessful in business, respected in their fields, are no longer Jehovahs Witnesses. It is INSANE.

You let your parents down TWICE - lol - first you DON'T die, and THEN you go and get a good job and a stable family - how selfish is THAT? LOL

Lol - Greendawn - SADLY I have never looked at ''evolution'' and it's something that really hasn't bothered me (my only education on THAT subject being from the Evolution/Creation Book - how pathetic is THAT?) - I am not au fait with the thinking - if dinosaurs ''evolved'' then were wiped out,(didn't something BIG happen?), did evolution begin again in another direction?

I find the blood thing weird. A JW can have the ''loop'' system during surgery, but cannot donate HIS/HER own blood to be transfused for the forthcoming operation, as it would have been ''stored''. Well, WHERE do they think the blood ''fractions'' come from - STORED BLOOD!

Rented any good movies lately?

since neil and i are a little on the tight side financially lately, we've taken to renting movies more often to entertain ourselves.

the other night we watched "riding giants" a documentary on surfing.

if you haven't watched it, it's a must see...even if you don't appreciate the sport you will after watching it.

how does the witness one go to the meetings and out in service....and how do you the poor apostate bastard go to apostafests and stuff?

Witnesses and alcoholism

my jw husband has made me promise to let him die rather than approve a blood transfusion because of bible doctrine; however, the same bible speaks against alcoholism and drunkeness and yet he continues to drink and sometimes gets absolutely smashed.. last night we were at a non-jw staff party for my place of employment, and he lost any shred of dignity through his heavy drinking.

we got home at 3 a.m. and he jumped out of bed at 8:20 and said, "i have to get to book study; i'm reading today.

(it behooves me how he can do this time and again without even taking so much as an asparin!).

Grace / Generic Man - in my PERSONAL experience, if one partner attends the meetings and the other one (even though more Conscientious, Christian) doesn't, they will weigh the situation up as to what is more profitable for the Society. Politics.

Priests sexually exploit young people; church cover up - Book Study comment

well, having attended the book study this week, we started the first few chapters in the new brochure, "keep on the watch" .

and, as predicted by myself, the brother taking the study blames the catholic church for all the sexual abuse.

another classic example of the ostrich mentality.

my mother was rather upset last week.

she had been sorting the territory when the group was out on field service.

there were only lowly women present so there was no problem with her doing this, as she usually did.

i was so afraid.

i was still attending meetings and my husband had no idea i was posting on an apostate site.. much has changed; we are both inactive faders and much happier.. thanks to all of you along the way that shed light on the darkness in my life.. love, blondie
