  Where in the bible does it talk about Field Service or preaching work?

  iam confused about the requirement for field service time.

  what are the scriptures that reference a preaching work that will carried out by ordinary people.

  is there scriptural backing?

  Welcome back Buck :)

  How's the progress coming along since you became an unbaptized associate? Two scriptures that are used quite often are Matthew 28:19 and Acts 20:20, however later on you will actually learn that the Greek scriptures were primarily written for "the annointed" and so technically THEY are the ones who were commanded to do the preaching work. I do not see any scriptural support for that to extend to the "great crowd" of "other sheep". I must have missed that meeting or publication when that "new light" was dispensed.

  anyways a young girl in my hall was announced as "no longer being one of jehovah's wittnesses."??

  They no longer make a distinction between someone who has disassociated themselves or actually have been disfellowshipped; they just state "so and so is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses".

  Back when I was active DF'd or DA's individuals could go to the book study but only at the kingdom hall and not the ones held in private homes.

  do you think the wt has become more lenient or stricter over the year?.

  i am 21 and i remember just 4 years ago going to college was looked at as something negative.

  girls my age, we had plans to be ft pioneers and become secretaries.

  My post would be the same as Buttlights but Im 37 and male. Go to college and get a job to support yourself. They WTS isn't going to make your living for you, nor do anything else for you for that matter!!

  mag talking about christianity and how their followers were losing faith and trust in the religion because doctrines have changed.

  what was once a sin five yrs ago is no longer a sin.

  Which decade, or even century should one even start when it comes to flip-flopped teachings and doctrines? How about the teaching that Christ returned in 1874 and the time of the end being in 1914 then they switch and put the time of Christ returning in 1914 and the BEGINNING of the time of the end being in 1914. Somebody correct me if Im wrong here.

  The separating of the sheeps and the goats described in Matthew happens after the big A or great tribulation instead of happening from 1914 until now.

  These are just 2 changes that I can come up with on the top of my head on a Monday morning.

  Describe your first thoughts upon hearing the 1914 generation 'new light'

  we all remember where we were and what we were thinking during highly significant events....(e.g.

  9-11, jfk, etc)..... if you can recall, what were the first thoughts racing through your mind as you sat at the 1995 d.c. at the infamous 1914 generation change announcement, was it "the final nail in the coffin of your wts beliefs or did you engage in mental gymnastics to try to assimilate the "fresh meat in due season" lol....... i was in such shock at this announcement, i think my mind just blanked out for 10 minutes followed by: "ok, this really is it for me......they have duped us all along", i then immediately started thinking of my 90 year old jw grandmother sitting in the stadium, and what must have been going through her mind......

  I just thought how deceptive and manipulative the WTS was and how foolish I felt for going along with their teachings for as long as I did; how they actually came up with the change from the very same reference books they have used for years. I just thought to myself "Im just sure they had to have read this before but just didn't print it because it would take away the sense of urgency", but then they had to print it since their old teaching was about to prove false.
