i saw a car up ahead that appeared to be broken down.
i could see i guy in a suit standing next to it.

IT WAS!!!! but even more, it was one of the elders that was on my judicial comittee!
i drove past, thinking...should i be the better person and go back to see if he needs help???...then i realized i was terrified to go back....then i thought...''why am i scared? what's he going to do to me?''
so i went back. i pulled over and rolled down my window, and said, ''have you called anyone yet?'' he didn't recognize me at first b/c my hair's gotten longer since i've seen him and i had my shades on. he looked suprised when he did recognize me, but he was nice and said thank you and all that jazz. he had someone on the way. i said, ''ok! be careful then!'' and off i rode into the sunset.
i'm glad i did it. it was very empowering in a way. kinda felt like i was letting him know that he didn't scare me, and that i was more mature in the fact that i would approach him even though i knew he would never do the same.

i'm glad god never granted my "wish" for a husband while i was still in the org.
i'd be hurtin' a lot more right now if i was married/involved.
that those guys i prayed would propose to me never did.
and that god didn't let me die in my sleep that night...

same as brenda c. except that i got pulled out for having a too many wordly associates. i would have been part of the class of 2005, but i got my ged in 2004 instead.

isn't it funny how certain smells can have a strong effect in evoking distant memories?.
i was reminded of this when i just opened my desk drawer.
a little earlier today i bought a local newspaper (which is unusual for me) and didn't have time to read it so i stuck it in the drawer.
the smell of my mother's perfume ( i can't remember the name) and aquanet hair spray. that smell is so etched into my brain that i can summon it at will. it reminds me of the happier times w/ her, like when i would have a bad day and she'd tell me to come and sit in her lap and i'd lay my head on her shoulder to where the smell of her hairspray and perfume mixed to make a simply wonderful scent.
i love my momma...we just can't get along.

er.... i mean magnificent liars:.
president bush apointee condi rice: "i don't think anyone could have anticipated terrorist flying airplanes into buildings.".

i'm sitting here in awe, just having read that evacuation helicopters are reporting being shot at in louisiana.
shot at.. looters are seeing an opportunity to take goods that will probably be destroyed or paid for by insurance anyway.
it's dirty and nasty and wrong, but i can live with it.
Get all of the good people out, Let the gangs have it, Make an island out of New Orleans. Blow up the only way out. Declare it a foreign country. Don't allow any immigration.
i concur!!!! if they can dish it out, they need to take it too!

What happens is the hurricane reaches category 5 for a while, then it "stumbles" a bit causing the eye to start to collapses, then it regroups again to return to a category 5. Just before Katrina reached land it started one of these "stumbling" cycles which is why the weather reporters said it would not be so bad... only it recovered from the stumble more quickly that predicted.
yeah...that's what i meant.
thank u
