Just me...doing what I do best( work wise )...land surveying. Love to be outdoors...worked ten years at an office job...it's a wonder I didn't hang myself.

Does Devil Talk Irritate You?

i enjoy reading the bible on my own since i left the jw's.

i get extremely irritated when other people talk to me about how satan is causing certain things in my life--example is if i'm not getting along with a coworker or anything like that.

(my husband also blames satan).

Yes...I believe that about 3/4 of what happens to us in life comes about because of us...ourselves...the rest is just life...nothing more. Also get weary of the "let me tell you about my Jesus"...as if they carry him around in their pocket... ready to pop him out like billfold pictures.

hi, a link on another thread made me wonder if anyone here has written any poetry about dubdom.

here is my contribution: a poem i wrote during a circuit assembly that i was absolutely hating.

Servant

I sit at the meetings and stare at the floor

Mind numb, body sore

From the podium I hear

MORE! MORE! MORE!

To the field I go to beat on doors

All the while thinking

MORE! MORE! MORE!

Magazines I place in the hands of those

Whom I wish to convert

To the Glory of God

For they too are needed to give

MORE! MORE! MORE!

At home I sit and stare at the floor

Mind numb, body sore

I am my whore masters servant

I will serve no other

And walk the Watchtower road for evermore

Did every congregation have one or two desperate singletons?

i remember in the kh i went to there was always at least one desperate singleton who would sniff around the single women particularly the ones which were his own age...he was mid 40s i seem to believe...never had a girlfriend and would have married anybody who wouldve had him.

there was no real harm in him...just lonely i expect but i think he made most women skwirm.. what about you...did your hall have its own resident 'single sister stalker'?

Knew a sister that was a stalker. Once she had a fellow in the cross hairs where he went she went. Would park in front a guys house till he got home, no matter the time. Got the police called late one night by a brother's neighbors, he didn't know she was out front. Rumor had it she carried a sleeping bag in the trunk. This girl drove a Pontiac as big as a steam ship, so, who knows. She was a good lookin kid too, but desperate. Sad to say she got taken advantage of more than once.
