  do any of you have any amusing stories as to why some people becames jw's?.

  personally... when we were just little tikes my mum was organising a birthday party for my sister.

  she invited the neighbours boys around and they weren't allowed because they were a jw family.

  Being raised a witness I never knew why my parents were drawn in. Neither did I understand my father going back after nearly 20 years. Over the years the question/answer never came with anyone I knew.

  what is your definition of a friend?.

  i believe you have one or two friends through out a lifetime.

  all others are just people you know.

  What is your definition of a friend?

  I believe you have one or two friends through out a lifetime. All others are just people you know. A friend knows your strengths...your weakness'...they may rattle your cage...make you the butt of a joke. They will never exploit you. Sometimes a friend can be a soulmate (in my opinion these are rare) man or woman makes no difference. Do you have a friend?

  i'd have to say for me that it was ayn rand's the fountainhead.

  even though i don't agree with a lot of her philosophy, it definitely made me stumble around in a thought-induced haze for a few weeks after reading it.

  JWs betraying you to the elders.

  i was once betrayed by an unknown person to the elders for buying soft porn magazines in a shop.

  i never managed to figure out who it was since there were many people in the shop (news agency) at the time and i never noticed a jw from the local congo or one from other congos in the area that i knew.

  to this day it's a mystery to me who saw me there and went to tell the elders.

  I was reported for buying a pack of smokes. The fact they were being bought for my employer didn't faze the brothers. Oh, only one person saw it. No matter. I had...GASP!...bought a pack of cigiretts. I didn't even smoke then. Idiots.

  15 years baptized .

  also, does the resentment for jw's grow in a linear or a exponential manner with time spent as a jw?.

  20 plus years. Baptized 11. Gone 30. Got over the resentment about 15yrs ago. Sometimes get a little sad for what I lost in terms of education and career.

  we attended a kingdom hall with less than 100 publishers.

  my dad never had a good word to say about any of my jw friends, they were all un-theocratic.

  We attended a Kingdom Hall with less than 100 publishers. My dad never had a good word to say about any of my JW friends, they were all un-theocratic. In fact he was down right preachy about it. He very seldom commented on my worldly friends except for general comments about bad association and such. How was it for you?

  By the way we were at the hall every time the doors opened and then some. My dad was hardcore WT.

  Depends on the person and circumstance. Some folks do it in jest and it becomes a game in which I'll join in. I don't mind self parody and can usualy give anybody a run for their money.
