i have tried to be an atheist- honestly, i have really tried.
i have most of dawkins books and many others.
i completely agree there has to be some evolution and obviously the fossil record in the grand canyon plus erosion shows it must be at least 600 million years old.
i still want jehovah to act in the way he promised he would through an organization i now know doesn't have his direction...

just got a september '08 awake in my paws.. the cover asks "is there life beyond the grave".
they have a quote from forrest gump (of course he wasn't mentioned by name but i've seen the movie a million times).
it says roughly: in a movie a young man is shown standing by his mother's grave.
I thought it was going to be: "Stupid is as stupid does!"
Much more appropriate
or..."sometimes there are just not enough rocks" remember that scene.. poignant...or what

san francisco (afp) - intel on thursday showed off a wireless electric power system that analysts say could revolutionize modern life by freeing devices from transformers and wall outlets.
intel chief technology officer justin rattner demonstrated a wireless energy resonant link as he spoke at the california firm's annual developers forum in san francisco.. electricity was sent wirelessly to a lamp on stage, lighting a 60 watt bulb that uses more power than a typical laptop computer.. most importantly, the electricity was transmitted without zapping anything or anyone that got between the sending and receiving units.. "the trick with wireless power is not can you do it; it's can you do it safely and efficiently," intel researcher josh smith said in an online video explaining the breakthrough.. "it turns out the human body is not affected by magnetic fields; it is affected by elective fields.
will 3 fold cords still be in use

ok boys and girls something light tonight.
ive been talking to someone the other day who is studying psychology and she tells me you can tell a lot about a person based on who their childhood hero was.
im not sure if i subscribe to the idea at all, kind of reminds me of horoscope or tarot archetypes but on the other hand, ive been thinking tonight, she might be onto something there at least partly.
jesus
i was down the pub tonight and my sister said she went to see 'sex and the city' in the cinema.
i gave a lol and said the title of the film sounds just like something which would be specifically singled out at 'inappropriate for true christians' in a district assembly talk just because of it's title.. .
immediately everyone started having a go saying that what i said sounded like the criticisms of an apostate and if i went to assemblies or meetings or read the literature anymore i would know that they don't single out specific shows etc anymore.. .
star trek 2 - the wrath of khan got a mention - the scene where they put live bugs in someones ears
blade runner also
cant give references cos i dont got wt lib at mo.
i know that the wtbts generally dont give two hoots about the elders (this weeks wt describes the elders as imperfect , make mistakes etc while making no such admission for the fds) but it is interesting that the thrust of much of the recent changes is to reduce the elders workload.
notice three recent changes.
reduction from taking an hours book study every week to an occasional 30 minute study.
Did you write about this somewhere? Sorry to be nosy - I only ask because you mention it as if we may have heard about it before.
ah no sorry...i mean things that have come to my knowledge judicial cases meeting parts etc etc. i knew i hadn't expressed it as well as i could have when i wrote it...but frankly normally no-one notices lol
