  hey guys, me again.

  thanks for all the help, i was wondering how to get my hands on the old literature, i was gonna ask this nice older brother i know if he could get me some old books?

  I understand Randy, and I wasn't seeing it as an attack. Not really your style on this forum. When I read outsmart's comment, I didn't see the idea of a unified group as a replacement being promoted, just that he basically doesn't want to be lumped in with the perceived whacky apostate hoard. More of an "All individuals, that come to their own conclusions" group, with that being their commonality. Anything but a unified replacement.

  Ah hah! Now I read outsmart's response..oh well.

  While I may not like Rick's style, we are not a replacement organization that tries to create an image of a united front. I see this all the time on the board. No offense, but I think that people coming out should learn to live in the real world and realize that once you are freed from mind control, why should we use the very same lie that the WT uses, that they are all in unity in belief?

  Randy, was this portion of your post (a good post by the way) directed toward outsmart's comment?

  Lazy day here too. Got up late, so I missed the meeting for field service. Coffee, eggs, coffee....JWN. Might get out of my sweats and do some pre garden weeding. Schedule wise, that bumps up against the Pubic Talk and study of the bible, "with the help of the Watchtower Magazine", but first things first.

  i just heard this within the last day.. i had no clue that the society had a travel agancy within its offices!.

  anyhoo, in the area i live they called numerous hotels for deals for the convention and the gm whom i know through friends told me that they play hardball in getting the maximum commission possible for refering people.

  he said the average is about 10 to 15 percent of the room cost.

  They should just do a satelite feed to the K Halls, and charge admission. Would just have to do one Convention presentation in each major time zone/continent. They would have real control over the content too!

  I'd gladly pay the entrance fee to avoid having to leave my home/bed and travel to some distant metropolis, go out to eat, fight traffic etc.

  the above quoted watchtower article came the year after the failure of 1975 on every level.. not only was the worldwide publicity connected with 1975 totally embarassing to jehovah's name and organization it was the 2nd time the error.

  Great post Terry. I would love to just cut and paste those points into an email and send to my "active" friends. For some reason, the thought of doing that hurts....

  Reminds me of when I was younger, and my brother and I would "fight". Neither one of us REALLY hit each other with any serious force. The thought of actually hurting each other kept us from that.

  Throwing serious evidence/attacks like this at the "followers" just seems like giving them a real, full on, punch to the face.

  I guess I'm not angry enough yet. Or, as some here would suggest....just a whimp.
