PISTOLPETE:
Edited to say ‘higher plane’ - although some of these self-righteous JWs were also rather plain as far as I was concerned.
after you read the words of jesus in mark 2: 17, you will see that the contrast between the teachings of jesus and the governing body.. .
you clearly read what's written in the bible, but the society is always twisting and bending scriptures to their benefit.

PISTOLPETE:
Higher plain? In their minds maybe.
How do you think I feel about the older hypocritical S.O.B.s who came into the JW religion after they earned their living..and then proceeded to criticize me because I worked full time to support myself?
If I had listened to them I would not be Retired. I never got a chance to tell them off.
This is why I’m not interested in any hard-luck stories about Witnesses who never wanted to work. They better track down any ‘spiritual’ friends left who are probably associates of these departed JWs who lived out their affluent lives after knocking a younger person like me who worked!

VIDIOT:
Yeah, let them do that. It’s just lashing out in spitefulness.
For the most part, the JW religion is diminishing and in another generation or less it will be a shadow of its former self and will either be a smaller online religion or it will go into obscurity like other American sects of the past.
do you support the death penalty or do you think the worst punishment should be incarceration?.
VIDIOT:
I think that’s true.
That’s why famous mass murderer types (mostly of women) who get a lot of press coverage would get the very much deserved death penalty - meanwhile other run-of-the-mill murderers do not, sadly.
does using uncle ben’s food products offend you?.
are you offended if you see a flag?
what about a confederate flag?.
STEPHANELALIBERTE:
Yes, there is no escape from this garbage and I try to ignore it as much as I can.
BTW, I am sure you meant the word ‘peace’.
so yesterday while i was doing some work for a customer, i noticed the wt mags on the sofa.
and i asked the elderly man if he was a jehovah witness?.
he said that he and his wife and all his children were raised in the religion, but only he and his wife attend the meetings or zoom.
3RDGEN:
That is a wonderful story about your elderly mother in law and I’m glad she learned TTATT in a gradual non-traumatic way.
I think this is rather unusual though for the average elderly person in the JW religion who does not have close family already Out...but I am glad this worked out for her.
For the most part, most elderly JWs who catch on HAVE to play it very carefully unless they want their life turned upside down and have all sorts of drama!

LITTLE JERRY:
I see what you are getting at but tell me: whose picture should be on the package? ..Should it be a little blonde girl with pig tails?
Also, what about other pictures on other merchandise? Just WHOSE pictures should be on everything? Or, just to satisfy everybody should there NEVER be a depiction of any human being on anything?
what is the most insensitive thing an overseer or elder has ever said and done to you?
i have had many insensitive things said to me by some elders, but for some reason one self-righteous elder was always on my case.
he didn't like the fact that i missed meetings, didn't like that i never went out in field service, that i didn't answer at the weekly meetings and he didn't like that i carried my books and magazines in my hands and not a service/book bag.
RULES®ULATIONS:
Way back in the day when I was a fool, I thought the elders were my *friend* or had ‘wisdom’...I was not yet aware of the terrible bias they had against me because I was a single working woman who did not pioneer, abase myself or do favors for Users or jealous individuals there.
I called one elder up because of a certain bad situation in my non-JW family/personal life. Out of the blue, I get a tirade that ‘I have to put on a Christian personality and deal with it, etc’. I was left feeling WTF? Another time I approached that same elder in the hall about the unchristian attitudes I saw by certain people in the hall. He then threw back at me some bullshit about what I had to do, etc. I THEN said to him: “these people have the same WT/Awake magazines that I do. Isn’t it also THEIR responsibility to act accordingly, etc.” He really didn’t have an answer for that.
It was after that I realized the mindset towards me. It would be hopeless to ever engage them in any sort of a personal conversation again. I also remembered feeling awful after shepherding calls and made it a point to refuse them...Other than a nod hello (to one who acknowledged me), I never had any contact after a certain point.
Fast forward: the offending elder is passed away and I am Out and Retired and grateful I never listened to the so-called wisdom in that awful place!

PISTOLPETE:
As the elderly man said, you have no idea how lucky you are. You got Out at an early age.
He is realistic in knowing that at his age (over eighty) he may as well stay put. He knows the deal with the JW religion that he and his wife would be shunned and they would have no friends and nobody to help out if they need a favor. He doesn’t need the grief.
As JWGONEBAD says: There is no way of knowing how many JWs in any given congregation who secretly don’t believe. Maybe it’s even higher than one quarter of them...I also disagree with anybody who feels they have to put pressure on people they know who are still in. Believe me, if anybody wants Out, they’ll get the hell out.
I’m just Glad I ‘Faded’ out of the JW religion twenty years ago while I was still working and in time to reconnect with my non-JW family and make things good again! This was priceless to me. 👍🏻
i overheard this, while my father was listening to the mid week zoom meeting.
apparently all the reshuffling with the bethelites having to do their own food prep and washing was because it would free up space for better utilisation, and bethelites who were needed for these jobs could now be out in the field ministry.
omg😳 i also chocked when i heard that.
JOE134CD:
Sounds like a pile of horsemanure made to smell pleasant. What this really means is yet another bunch of bethelites are going to be sent packing!
Now, yet MORE needy and begging people will be in congregations..except there aren’t as many physical congregations around since they are selling off so many kingdom halls! If you call a virtual Zoom meeting a ‘congregation’..it still requires a ‘home’ for a person to be IN in the first place. So, these bethelites will need a place to go TO. Are their parents alive? Maybe not if they are older bethelites. Not a good situation.
These bethelites are going to learn what it’s like to really live in the big bad world. Any of them who made callous and arrogant remarks in the past (‘not spiritual’ or ‘materialistic’) about responsible working people in congregations are going to eat their words!
They can’t say they weren’t warned since this has already happened before. Any bethelites still there had better be prepared, have a plan and have a list of phone contacts they can get in touch with.
