  diss-ass myself 2 years ago... new to this site

  i disassociated myself just over 2 years ago.

  i grew up in the truth so now i feel a bit lonely and out on a limb with no friends.... feels so strange cos i had so many mates in the truth.

  i still believe what jws believe and im not seeking an alternative religion or anything like that.

  Hi Paul

  I'm from the uk, north east. I knew nothing about your religion six months ago, but Ive studied watchtower literature and the Bible every day to understand my lifelong mates ongoing conversion. At first I thought it was doing him good, as a was brought up in a very Bible based religion, more so than JWs.

  After initially having heated arguments with my friend about religion, I have calmed down the more I learn. I could not understand however the need for such severe watchtower censorship. Having researched 125 years of watchtower publications, I now understand why the truth about the truth must be hidden and covered up at all costs. The whole experience has led me back to Christianity after more than 25 years.

  I have been studying with a PO for 6 weeks now, extremely interesting.

  first of all, i want to apologize for all the mistakes i will probably make, i m not very good at english, it s very hard for me to think in another language different than my native tongue (spanish, of course!!)..

  i ve been lurking through this forum for a long time but i didn t dare write here because of my lack of knowledge of the language but i changed my mind.

  i think i can give a different point of view from other members of usa of uk, it seems that most of the members are from theses countries.

  why do jw's spend so much time judging one another and tell the elders when they perceive someone breaking a wt rule?

  jesus said that his followers would be recognised for the love thay had among themselves.

  so, what gives with this watchtower religion?

  There are a few doctrinal ideas I still agree with such as no physical resurrection of Jesus' body and the metaphorical understanding of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (ie no super mystical triune God)

  Interesting! I think these are the weakest of all Watchtower doctrines, each to his own.

  I say this because of Christs strong emphasis that he had been resurrected as flesh and bone rather than as a spirit. I think this is the teaching that exposes JWs as false witnesses.

  1 Cor 15:14 If Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also in vain. Yes, and we are found FALSE WITNESSES OF GOD.

  I have ordered a kingdom interlinear Bible. This clearly leads to J reference Hebrew translations wose headings clearly state Trinitarian Society.

  That does not make those translations accurate. As I said, we should rely only on the thousands of ancient Greek manuscripts and what does that give us???

  Pretty much the New Jerusalem Bible - Yahweh in the OT and Lord in the NT - just what the inspired authors wrote.

  The problem is that people are using J-references to suggest the original authors used the Tetragrammaton in the Christian Greek Scriptures. This just did not happen. We now have more than 5,000 ancient Greek manuscripts, all of which use Lord or Theos, and none of which used the Tetragrammaton, or even a Greek equivalent. This says something about what the inspired authors were trying to tell us.

  The oldest of the ancient manuscripts, or fragments, date back to just 25 years after the death of the author of Revelation. Still no Tetragrammaton. Very few of these ancient manuscripts had been discovered in the 1940s when the NWT was produced.

  All the J-references are translations of ancient Greek manuscripts into Hebrew between 1385 CE (mostly 1599CE) until the 20th century. These inserted the Tetragrammaton in place of the original Lord, usually to convince Messianic Jews that Jahweh and Jesus were one and the same. Many of the J referenced make it clear that Jesus and Jehovah are one entity. But the J references are inaccurate translations so cannot be relied on by WTS or Catholics.

  That leaves us with over 5,000 ancient Greek manuscripts which predate all J references by more than 1000 years. All these use Lord for both Jehovah and Jesus, whether we like it or not. We can draw our own conclusions.

  Jesus said: Stop judging, that YOU may not be judged. (Matthew 7:1)

  And: Whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them....for this is the law and the prophets (Matthew 7:12)

  He also said: All authority has been given me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things. (Matthew 28:18-20)

  Imagine if all people who profess to be Christians observed all the things the Christ commanded us. Recently someone suggested getting a red letter Bible, with Christs words printed in red. One of my projects will be to read only the words of Christ, without any denominational bias, and see what truths that might lead me to.

  HELP ME

  hi all, i am meeting up with my father in a couple of weeks(all that know me know i havent seen him for three months or spoken to him) anyway he called up the other night to finally see how i was and he kept saying so you do you think you will come back to the truth.anyway i want to confront him bout the whole organization being involved in the un but i want to make sure i have all the info on it and know everything there is to know bout it so i can get my point across.

  can anyone help me as i know they are involved but not to what extent, thanks.
