this week we will be breaking from our normal tack of examining scientific evidence, and instead consider the issue from a different perspective.
now, when you consider the number of animal species in the world today, it is clear that there are literally millions more species than could ever have fit into noah's ark.
I've enjoyed this series of posts. Who says that Christians don't believe in evolution? Who says that Christians believe the Old Testament to be literal? Once again, some confuse Christianity with JWs.
I do recognise however that a minority of Christians do take the Bible literally and do not believe in evolution. Please don't paint us all with the same brush.

being born and bred into the borg i always felt it was the "truth" but i wasn't the one who measured up i was not good enough to be a dub.
but i also had nagging questions that went unanswered by the most learned elders...or at least not answered to my satisfaction.
their "answers" were in fact not really answers but side-steps or attempts to mis-direct my question into an area they could answer.. an example...it always bothered me that we could not examine the contents of what opposers put out.

Thanks for starting a good thread. My friend told me last week that his adult sons, who won't listen to him about JW religion, and his father who died a few years ago, will all qualify for a resurrection. Is this the teaching?
I have a question. Does Satan have more power than Jesus Christ? They say Christ has no power of his own, but that Satan is very powerful. How do they answer this?
true story: i used to drive for long trips on the highway a lot.
three-hundred-and-fifty mile trips were not unusual, and night time driving was quite common.
one night i fell asleep at the wheel, travelling 55 miles per hour along winding mountainous roads.
Actually, your story reminds me of similar ones common amongst adventists, when I was one. The Roman Catholics too brought me up on many such examples of guardian angels. My humanist sister who was into spiritism years ago describes similar things and says it is ghosts. It seems that demons or angels or ghosts aren't fussy what religion we are, or whether we believe in God.
I still go with natural explanations, sorry to be boring - humans need more exciting answers than reality provides.

I think Tetrapot has put it well. We don't undrstand so much of what the brain can do. One tendency is to look for the supernatural explanation when it just isn't there. Just my opinion, but I just can't go along with any superstition, either the watchtower variety such as so-called demons, or any other.

Hi Tsunami, I wonder what your witnessing partner thought of what the guy said. Wish you had knocked at my door. I would have made you a cup of tea, read some scriptures, and asked some questions like:
What does Luke 8:39-40 mean when it says Be on your way back home, and keep on relating what things God did for you. Accordingly he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what things Jesus did for him.
Or why Joseph Rutherford suddenly renamed the publishing company Jehovahs Witnesses when the New Testament contains whole books that don't even mention Jehovahs name at all (Phillipians;1 Timothy; Titus; Philemon; 1 John; 2 John; 3 John)and why some of Jesus last words before he was killed were those in Acts 1:8 and you will be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the most distant part of the earth.

i was sitting in my car in a parking lot and an old woman came out with a shopping cart with a few items in it.
she was putting them in the back of a pickup truck and it was a little high for her to lift things over the side.
she had a bag of dogfood or something like it and a young woman saw that it would be hard for her to lift it and she ran over and lifted it over for her and pattied her on the back and walked over to her car and left.
I honestly believe that the JWs I know are more worldly than most of my family and friends. JWs describe as worldly those who try to put into practice what Jesus Christ taught.

i have to say that the longer that i stay away from jehovah's witnesses, the easier it is to see that they are so wrong!
so wrong about how they live their life, so wrong about their fundamental belief system, so wrong about how they treat people---whether they are jws or aren't.
for any of you lurker witnesses here, please get off the fence and recognize you were never "in the truth".
Second thoughts, if I were in the organisation, I would perhaps remain on the inside and do as much good as I could from within to reveal the truth about the truth. It must be easier to help people from within than from the position of one DFd or DAd.
I am still seriously considering infiltration, but its quite a sacrifice - and in any case I don't think I would get far. I can't help answering back when I read or hear unthruths.

Minimus - What I find so amazing is that armed with nothing but JW publications, inc their Bible, they can quite easily be proved wrong, if only they could bring themselves to look at the evidence - their own evidence!
