I haven't had the kind of experiences of seeing houses that were in too bad of shape, but one place that was completely dirty, yard a mess (make a redneck blush), the bedrooms were at best trashed, dirty clothes everywhere. But what was the icing on the cake so to speak was that it was a Brother and Sisters house. They lived in filfth, we never ever went back there. And to top it off, the brother was perplexed that when he offered his house up for the book study, that no one wanted to go.

Did you see any sad living conditions in Field Service...?
by Casper inim sure all of us at one time or another witnessed homes that broke our heartshere are a few of mine.
some of the homes i had been invited into out in service really left an impression on me.
call it naive or whatever, it was a real eye opener in some cases.. one in particular that i remember was a poor family with 8 little girls, stair step in age, the oldest no more than 9. this was an rv of the sister i was with.... very nice people, but the living conditions were appalling.

Unfortunately thats a negative on the interogative. They believe that reading an Awake and attending the theo school is higher education.

Bye-Bye Brooklyn....were OUTTA there! Real Estate news.
by oompa ini was told today by a heavyweight elders wife, both of whom were at bethel for many years and are very well connected to the brooklyn brass, that all brooklyn bethel operations will be moved to wallkill and patterson.
in fact, there is a very exclusive walk-through next week for some of the top real estate investors/developers who will see all the properties, starting with the sands, and its lobby has now been remodeled to look just like a high-end hotel..................just fyi.................................oompa

Naturally I am a day late and a $ short or finding this out, was out to dinner last night with family and was studying a book on analyzing and interpreting literature and didn't get on here in time to learn of the call. Am anxious to hear from anyone who did get on and what was said or not said for that matter.

They are just like witnesses in my book, people who will let their children die over some bs they precieve to be correct in the Bible. They have no heart just a dedication to a concept. Witnesses and People of that ilk whould change their minds in a heartbeat if the religious powers that be said it was okay to i.e. take blood, and to get medical care for ones own children.

Some JW's are sooooo inconsiderate...
by rache31 ini was at the eye doctor yesterday, after an emergency room visit.
i had an injury to my eye, fortunately minor, and my doctor wanted to examine it.
two witnesses were in the office waiting room and spotted me right away.

Most witnesses or at least imo and experience don't really have a clue when it comes really realizing what certain situations entail. they are so wrapped in the carrot stick they don't really get it in real life. I had the same thing happen to me, had very serious operation and all they were concerned about was that I make the meetings, not how I felt or anything having to do with my present physical and mental situation.

using your car in service
by megaflower ini did not mind occasionally useing my vehicle out in service but the elder who did the morning text use to volunteer my car all the time.my pet peeves were:.
1. people walking through mud, grass clippings(rural territory) and just hoping back into the car.
mudd all over carpet.

I made life simple go with me into the rurals and no kids allowed. If they had them they ain't riding with me, and if the elders didn't like it too bad. I always enjoyed rurals, people are friendlier out there.

WARNING: Baptism Guilt Talk coming to a K Hall near you in April.
by Open mind injust a heads up to anyone who might still attend the occasional meeting, there's gonna be a major guilt talk on the service meeting during the week starting april 7, 2008. it's entitled "why put off baptism?
" (kinda weirdly worded title if you ask me.
sounds like it would be a list of good reasons to put it off.

Here comes another guilt trip on both the parents and their children. I have on a number of times told my child to wait until 30 then make a decision. Just as Jesus did. If you aren't mature enough to get married, you aren't mature enough to get baptized. also the society tells you that you are accountable to God for you actions even though you don't get baptized, well thats true but you aren't accountable to an organization.
accountable to God okay.
accountable to men or an organization not okay.

Some of the verses the use are Matthew 5: 3, and 5 one to show they are the anointed the other to show its the great crowd the mild who shall inherit the earth. Just picking and choosing anything to try and validate their stance on the supposed 144,000, it's imo a nonliteral number.

Did Prayer work for you, or not?
by gaiagirl injws, and christians in genreral, are taught that god answers prayers of sincere believers.
on the other hand, there is a popular bumpersticker which reads "nothing fails like prayer".. what has been your experience in this regard?
did god answer your most heartfelt prayers, or were they ignored?.

NO! it was an exercise in futility, made you feel good for a few moments but that is the extent of it.
