MYSpace....How Do You REALLY feel about it?

this is for all those parents of teens out there..... do you really want your child on myspace?.

my 12 (almost 13) yr old opened her own acct without my permission....knowing full well i don't want her on it!!!.

she gets to do a lot but she's starting to try to be a lot more independent from me and when it comes to the web, i am very careful.. anyone dealt with this one?.

I have an account. Mostly friends and family on it that live far away. Its fun to send picture comments to them and be able to have a personal page ,made up. I keep mine set on private just because i'm there for my friends and family only not for spam and porn. If you decide to let her have her account make sure she does not put her own personal pic up....I have notice that young people get bothered alot less when they don't have a pretty face up...and deffinatly keep it private....keep all those pedifile(sorry sp) psycos away. I'd say let her add me...but my profile isn't set up for young impressionable minds to look at

Turned 21!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow i turned 21 today and for the first time i'm genuinely excited about it.

i got alot of b'day wishes and just said "thank you" instead of trying to explain my way out of it...i felt so special and i even went to the store and bought a bacardi my parents laughed at me...and i don't feel guilty for enjoying the day i was born like i used to......baby steps to mental freedom!!!!

What are you doing for Fathers Day?

i will be driving up to my non-jw daughters for the weekend, saturday we are going to a party and sunday we will watch some movies, after i setup her hdtv.. philip.

Actually we usually play together on the same team....but you know there is always "friendly fire? --- especially when i'm shooting down field and out pops his big head from behind a bunker...WAP!!! thank you for forgivness...and make up sex

What should people know about JW?

i have been asked to talk to a group of people about jw.

what would you say is the most important thing non-jw need to know about the wbts.

this is what i have in mind, please feel free to comment.. 1) jw history.

I'd point out how when you are to be baptised as a JW you are doing it as an agreement that they are the 1 true religion representing god....its not just that your are being baptised as gods servant ......sorry if that sounds confusing....having trouble wording stuff. I would deffinatly bring up how children are raised...ie spanking and homeschooled(i was homeschooled...totally screwed me up).2 witnesses for issues.. good luck

Hubby and I are playing paintball on saturday.....its not fathers day until you get to shoot the one who knocked you up...LMAO

Grieving not complete

bumped into an old friend of my mothers.

her daughter died in a car crash over 30 years ago.

the truth is all she can talk about and seeing her daughter again.

My grandma died just a few weeks ago and my mom and brother were at her house the very same day packing up stuff and going through papers. Same thing.....all she can talk about is that they get to see her soon in the paradise. Mom is is mentally ill (myexplanation). When my dad passed away she took a picture, i think its the cover of the paradise brochure, and she had it changed so that my brother(who died when he was 11 months) and my dads picture were on the front, and it read..."We want to see you in the paradise". Talk about playing off someones feelings......that picture made me so angry...She was trying to guilt me into staying in the truff. Now that my grandma has passed she added her picture to the front along with my dad and brothers picture and made copys for everyone that was at the service at the KH. Anyway, she didn't greive much at all....shes got it in her that she will see her son and her husband and mom-n-law in the new system......and thats just how its gonna be.....nothings gonna sway her because that is how she handles death....they aren't dead...they are sleeping...i get to see them soon in the paradise.....yes its very sad.....but I don't think its the right way to greive.

What's your view of "The Secret"

a neighbor told me about the book, "the secret".

i read it and thoroughly enjoyed.

it places emphasis on the "universe" but can be understood to be a supreme being (god).

I have watched the DVD but have not read the book yet. I like the idea of it all and i have applied some of the suggestions to my thinking....i'd like to be a more positive person anyway. It does seem to resymbol sciencetology a bit. I'm just waiting for that money i'm imagineing to come rolling in...

Seriously though it has help trumendously with my marriage

What do you do when you know you child is getting thier feelings hurt?

we just recently moved and my oldest son (9) is adjusting well, so far.

there are lots of kids on the street and they are always outside playing soccer and basketball.

i've noticed that he is having trouble with a couple of the boys....they are all very close in age...9 10 and 11.

Thanks...I understand that I need to help him build his self esteem.....he tried baseball last year and it did help some..i think part of it is new area new friends...SIGH I just hate seeing him sad and hurt

I've noticed that he is having trouble with a couple of the boys....they are all very close in age...9 10 and 11. ..2 of the boys have been making him feel bad, i.e. saying outloud "what is HE doing here" and "come on, don't you know how to kick it straight". Before we moved he spent alot of time playing legos with friends but the boys here are more sports oriented. So he doesn't have much experiance with soccer and i did sign him up for the soccer team (per his request). So, 1 boy is nice to him but the other 2 pick on him. I'm trying to help build up his self esteem so that the other boys will not have a need to pick on him......( i think they feed off the fact that he does look very hurt when these thing are said). Has anyone been through this stuff.....help please with some suggestions.

As a parent....how do YOU feel about trampolines?

my daughter broke her arm really just a hair above the elbow about 5 years ago.

her arm isn't the same after having pins in it.

now my oldest daughter has been going over to a friends house and doing back flips (as if she's a pro) on the dumb thing.

Everytime my oldest has gone near a trampoline he has some how gotten hurt....so i've basicly forbiden any of my children from being on one. As a good alternitive we bought a large bouncy house....they can bounce all over the place and not fall out.......great invention.....

P.S. there also fun for the parents after the kids go to bed........hahahahahah
