Makes you stranger. I think I might just be closing in on that light at the end of the tunnel. Usually I can see storms a way off and catch them before too much damage is done. This time I misjudged a financial one by a few days and damn has it cost me. A few days distraction lead to months...MONTHS of keeping the head down and hustling. Athiests please answer these questions
by Mrs Smith ini'm not trying to pick a fight i was just sitting at my desk pondering on some threads on jwd and i would very much like this question answered.. why is it that athiest often (not always) direct their argument for athiesism towards christians?
why not direct your argument towards buddists or muslims or even new-agers?
i mean they also believe in a higher power so why is it that only christains seem to get knocked?

I've seen the athiest/agnostic arguements directed at both Christian and Muslim believers. Buddhists, etc seem to rarely bother to engage in this type of debate, maybe since there isn't some need to "make" everyone else believe what they believe in order to achieve salvation.
The Christian and Muslim religions are among the newest and least developed religions, and the followers are much more entertaining...or so it seems at times. The older religions get it that we can believe different things and it doesn't mean theres some old guy out there that's pissed about it and sending over hurricanes, typhoons, etc.

I'm curious as to your motives for this. The way you are talking to the person (imagine he/she were in front of you) is sustaining the us against them mentality and probably will keep him on defensive, people can't learn anything while they are defensive. I you simply want to win a debate, you did that already.
If you are trying to HELP someone see the truth about the truth, maybe reconsider your tone and talk to this guy like you're talking to your best friend or child about why YOU see things the way you and and back it up with info from credible sources (court documents, etc). This way you are explaining why you feel as you do instead of throwing something in his face and saying "how do you defend that" (notice...defend). Or, go further, sound like you have questions and are considering his viewpoint, ask questions you know can't be answered, lead by not leading.
The best leaders are usually found towards the back of the line...because the people in front usually don't need the help to keep going.
Just a couple of thoughts.

by wanderlustguy insome folks have been checking on me, some have been worried that i am upset with them because all of the sudden i am off the planet except for a hi here and there..if that.
so i thought i should let my friends here know that i am ok, and say thanks for caring...it helps a lot.. a while back i posted about some things that had been happening in my life, some hopeful, as well as some difficulties.
everything has become more complicated and hurried, and there is a huge game of chess being played in so many areas of my life i need to step back and focus, really focus to make sure i do what i need to do and still be someone i can face in the mirror.

I doubt my own judgement in so many areas right now I just have to do nothing for a bit...hermit mode.
I hope you are all ok and I hope to be back to normal or some version of it soon. Good things are happening, unfortunately they are not in a hurry and making me pay up in advance. I just hope it's all worth it in the end. I think I just stick around so see what could possibly happen next.

My favorite is when I have a car in a parking lot, all taped off and ready to spray. I'll be mixing the paint for the bumper of the car I am working on...pouring it into the paint gun. I'll then walk over and start painting the bumper. Then here they come.
Q. Are you painting the car?
A. Yes I am.
Q. Isn't that illegal?
A. Yes, it is, I am an outlaw. I was going to try robbing banks or holding up liqour stores, but that seemed so 15 minutes ago. I decided to risk fines and imprisonment and slather paint on cars for half of what the body shops do...that's my strategy to get rich quick.
