Ex Elder Friend Tells Me There Are Now Only 45 Persons That Attend

when i left a couple of years ago, the average meeting attendance on a sunday was about 70. a couple of years before that it was about 90. now only 45 people attend the meetings.

he said the bookstudies average 9 per week at the kingdom hall (which used to be the biggest one)!!!

it's got to be extremely discouraging to see no one is left.

Liars will figure, but figures don't lie! Yes, the KH attendance is falling off. No matter how they try and massage the numbers the Dubs will have to notice the change. JW's need the positve reinforement of a numbers increase to keep them going. I feel that it won't be some major scandal that will bring down the WT, but a bunch of small ones. Closing Bethel offices and sending Bethelites back to their "home congregation" will not be a good PR move. Some of these laidoff 20 year Bethel workers will turn bitter and retaliate against the organization that discarded them. These insiders might just have the information that the IRS and Attorney General needs to open an investigation into the WT finances. peace, Moshe

Since G-d is the perfect designer, why did T-Rex become extinct? Did he get too mean for his own good?

G-d seems to be continually letting species go extinct- how much time do humans have left before G-d brings out the new and improved model?

we went out to lunch today and when the server brought our check he wished us a merry christmas.

my six year old daughter piped up " we celebrate hanukkah".

when the server returned he couldn't get out a " happy hannukah" - he stumbled for words- finally said something about a happy holiday.

Our daughter has school friend whose families do both holidays. She wanted to go to her friend's house at midnight and help them open Christmas gifts. She's a sweetie.

there must have been easily well over 400 people.

I wished my Catholic neighbor a merry Xmas today- she couldn't get the Hanukkah word out either. I've noticed a pattern in the five years since I converted- Most Christians avoid saying happy Hanukkah to a Jew. Why?

Why do churches still make me panic ?

i'm really glad i've found this site a week ago.

reading some of the stories and comments on here has really helped.

there are so many out there who's lives have been ruined by the so-called truth.. i was brought up in the truth as an elders daughter, youngest of 5, a brother and sister had been disfellowshiped, other brother had left as a teenager and my other sister is still sitting on the fence aged 40 going on 15, if she'd made a decision instead of sitting on the fence i'm convinced she wouldn't be the alcoholic mess she is today!

Many Ex-JW's end up in a church due to social pressure, or they are helped by the social programs,child daycare, singles groups,etc. A Bible study with orthodox Christians might highlight some parts of the Bible you missed ( like charity and forgiveness). At any rate, there is no need to feel bad about your fear of the Christian church. Many of us now would get ill just setting foot into a Kingdom Hall, and some of us would find the meetings funny! Twelve years after I left the Kingdom Hall I converted to Judaism, my new wife's
faith. So just enjoy your freedom to think for yourself and follow whatever path makes you happy- you deserve it.
