  hello, i'm new to this board.

  i've been a regular at jwo for a while, but since the site is having some sort of issue, i can't access it, so here i am.

  Have JW's set other dates since "1975" are have they quit fixing dates?

  it would seem that after 1914, 1918, 1925, 1975 that jw's would do as judge rutherford said and stop fixing dates but i was told they suggested other dates since 1975 failed prediction.

  do any posters out there know of other dates suggested for armaggeddon that jw's claimed after 1975. i was talking to an elder the other day and he still insist that "apostates" started the 1975 rumor and some dedicated jw's fell for the rumor and that the wts never said 1975 was the end of the world.

  he also claims that the wts only said that maybe the world would end but that they never said point blank that 1975 armaggeddon was arriving.

  Visted my aunt who introduced me to Jehovah.........

  i just came from visting my aunt, an ex-witness for about 20 years now.

  i went to see her on a whim.

  i'd been trying to reach her for years.

  she left of her own accord DA'd

  Now THAT is the oddity. She didn't feel strongly enough to stay for the family members on the inside (and many do), so she must have some gumption about her! - She must have had a reason. Either SHE couldn't compromise HER beliefs OR she felt she couldn't attain the 'perfection' that God requires.

  not only out of the truth, but apostate as well.

  I thought they amounted to the same thing?

  I really feel for her - left 20 years and yet still 'fearful'. Why is she caught in this 'limbo'?

  i just wanted to say hello to everyone.

  i'm an inactive, spiritually weak witness of not so good standing who stumbled on here the other day while trying to find out what tomorrows big announcement was going to be, after being told my mother that i might wanna go to the hall on sunday to find out.

  This will be the third year of not going

  Ditto, Blondie. I had a quick look through the Bible as to how to ''celebrate'' and I think I know what I will be doing (a few tips would be MORE than welcome though).HOWEVER, I am unsure as to whether to go for 23rd/24th March, or more likely the 23rd April (I googled Nisan 14, and I got an April date) - I'd be grateful for any pointers as this will be my first in my own home.

  Because beards are reserved for beatniks, bikers, and hippies

  .....and which category did Jesus fall into.....? It's the craziest rule - God intended men to have facial hair is my thinking!

  ...even GOD had a beard, lol.(maybe He's had to shave it off now, to keep in line with WTBTS rules??!!)
