So OP, what happened to your MIL? Was she able to say that seeing you and your spouse was a matter ok with her personal conscience, or was she reproved?

today, a 'clipboard' elder went down to see her.
he has been her book study overseer for a year and has never once gone to see her even though her husband is dying.

by hemp lover inthis happened almost three years ago, but since i always enjoy reading about other people's jw encounters, i thought i'd finally share one of my own.. i lived in an apartment for four years following my disfellowshipping and no one had ever come to my door, not even so much as a shepherding visit.

) i had lurked on this board for a while, but was put off by the anger and negativity of some people and so i didn't stay long.

That JW obviously had NO idea what she was talking about. The "teleportation" machines that are currently being built do not transport "objects"...
I knew it sounded too good to be true. And just when I was hoping I could teleport myself to work every day to save gas. Ah, well.
I'm still trying to figure out how in the world the dub could have logically connected the teleportation with "faith can move mountains". What does a teleportation machine have to do with faith? Did the scientists stand around and say to the machine, "We have faith you can move this particle?"

LOL--I remember being asked at pioneer school, who was supposed to talk the most, the householder or the pio. All the pios answered, the householder, because we're supposed to listen. Nope! The answer was the pio, because we were there to tell the householder as much info as we could until the door shut.

We Should Go On The Offensive Against The Elders That Come After Us!
by minimus ininstead of allowing the elders to run roughshod over us, i think we should start thinking of how to get to them before they try to impose their will upon us.
some may not care if the elders and society suddenly went after us.
but just out of principle, we should not let them do anything they want to us in their shunning treatment.

I've checked the law, and in my state, it's legal for someone to record a conversation I have with someone else. Only 1 person participating in the conversation makes it legal for it to be taped without the others' knowledge, without a court order.
I always thought it would be really cool for someone to tape a JC committee meeting. That would be great evidence against the tyranny of the elders! It could be released to tv shows and posted on the web, too, for public listening (provided it's legal).

OP, seriously, you could get some real cash for those on ebay, especially the out-of-print ones. A suggestion...if you don't like doing the whole ebay thing, would one of your friends do it for you in exchange for a part of the proceeds?
I'm not interested in any of the books you listed, but boy, how I'd love a copy of "Pay Attention to Yourselves and to All the Flock".

The ebay auction has now been deleted. I'm wondering if they got too many negative emails about the product. I visited the seller's web site....ewwww....I'm getting the ex-JW goose bumps....
So then I was thinking that puppet looked a little familiar. Yep. The dub must be reselling the puppets, ie, they are buying them from non-dubs who manufacture them. I hope that's seriously not something people give to their kids. You will see they have many such puppets, even devils and sheep. I think this is not a dub site at all. They have fairies and genies, too.

she is a single lady around 50 years old and she looked terrible.
i asked how she was,(she always talks to me) and she related how she had lost her job and had to work two low paying jobs.

You make some very valid points. I do know for a fact that some dubs do help out fellow members financially when needed. However, the only examples I have personal knowledge with are only help provided to the needy ones who are in good standing, popular, and have a sympathetic situation. I saw others who didn't quite meet those criteria be coldly ignored many times.

disfellowshipping children
by QCA1 inawhiile back i posted telling you about my grandson whos mother hit him for not saying grace before a meal ( he is 15yrs old ) he has been hit on many occasions,he hates being a witness and is forced to go to the hall by his mother.
my grandson phoned us on the day his mother had hit him,he was sobbing down the phone to us and said he wanted to come and stay with us, i said yes and that i would fetch him, anyway his mum and dad have had nothing to do with me since despite me writing to them expressing how much i love my grandchildren and that i wish to see them,i have had no reply.. the other day my grandson phoned and said to my younger son that he is leaving home when he is 16 and can he come and stay with us,of course i said yes.
what i need to know is will he be disfellowshipped for living with his grandma ( i am not a jw ) of course i know what this will mean for him,his brothers and parents will shun him.. as for me what else can i do to see my grandchildren.

Just wanted to say how admirable your attitude and willingness to help out your grandkids is. When I was that age, I too approached my grandmother in tears, asking if I could stay with her because I was sick of getting beaten and didn't want to be a JW any longer. I know the rest of my teen and early adult years would have been so much better, had she said yes. It's awesome that you're doing that for her.
Most JWs would shun their kids for leaving home and rejecting the "religion". There are some who may not. Only time will tell.
