Whole garlic tastes delicious when cooked and eaten as a part of a meal with noodles, other vegetables, and tomato sauce.

I'm pissed. They're no longer showing the games live so I get updates about how the games end before I actually see it!

Were you allowed to take sex education in school, when raised a JW?
by free2beme inwhen i was in my freshman year, they had us take a half semester of sex education and another one was drivers education.
the sex education class taught good stuff for a young teen to know, especially if they were in families who were kind of lax about teaching what needed to be know.
as an example, one girl in our class actually asked if you could get pregnant the first time and another asked if the pulling out method was as good as a condom.

We had sex ed twice, once in Grade 6 and once in Grade 9. I didn't want to opt out b/c I didn't want to be different; not like my parents knew anyway.

I prefer to go to natural places, mountains with forests, lakes and rivers, or nice beaches next to mountains, places where one can camp fish, look for wild fruit and mushrooms rather than be locked up in a hotel room. It's great with some nice company and music.
You should move to Canada. I live a 10 minute walk from an "urban forest" with trails and with wild Salmon berries and Blackberries all over the place. 15 min. drive south and you get to the Ocean, with crab fishing. 20 min. drive somewhere else and you can get all away from civilization (but still with cell coverage!). Me, I just want to go somewhere far away, but I've no $$$.

Lil' Kim - Jehovah Reference
by Bstndance inthe rockband thread made me think of something kind of funny.
on the lil kim track "tha beehive" she has the lyrics: "better pray to jehovah, the game is over"
it made me laugh.

A lot more groups use the name Jehovah, just not on a regular basis. Like in Anglican hymnals you would find "Jehovah." Or in Catholic Book of Worship II, you find Yahweh (changed in CBW III to Lord as to not offend Jews by using the name of god).

P.S. Are they putting adverts on in the US coverage?
In Canada, they're showing 45 min. straight, but for other sports like hockey and football, they interrupt a 20 min. period for one or two commercials every once and a while.

I am a magnet for men in cults
by kristyann inokay, so the ex-jw boyfriend and i finally broke up... and i am not really looking for anyone right now.
that was 2 and a half years of a pretty crazy relationship, and i don't think that i was particularly healthy staying in it.
i don't mind just hanging out with some guys, but i am not in the mood for anything serious after that roller coaster ride.. do you know what is so weird, though?

if you really knew Mormons and had the intellectual honesty to be more informed than from South Park Episodes you'd realise that they are people just like everone else - their beliefs just happen to be summed up as: 'If there is anything virtuous , lovely or of good report we seek after these things.'
And if you actually watched the South Park epsiode, you'd really know that that's what it said (after having fun with the story of Joseph Smith of course, but there's nothing unfactual that was presented AFAIK).

If you want to know more about the Mormons, watch the South Park episode "All about the Mormons," which is actually an accurate portrayal of their history. There's even a catchy song:
"Joseph Smith was a great prophet, dum dum dum dum dum de dum..."
