BEWARE THE MAN WHO TELLS YOU :
1.You can't "know" anything. (Although he seems to "know" that, doesn't he?)
2.You can't rely on logic because it is manmade and imprecise. (And uses logic to present that view)
3.Each person has their own reality; what is true for one person isn't true for another. (This relativism is taught in University Philosophy classess and disables the thinking of whole generations of students).
4.You can't define this or that.

Wow Terry, I truly agree with you. I particularly hate #3, which is still ruining generations of students as the relativist students who were taught by relativist professors are now teaching or lecturing relativist philosophy. I also happen to despise existentialism, which is quite similar to relativism, in a way.

who thinks the articles at http://www.infowars.com are truth, and who thinks they are conspiracys?.

me = truth.

i used to think they were conspiracys, until i found out alot of the articles on the website are actually reported in the media and on cnn/msnbc websites.

STAR WARS I-III, real disappointment.

I just saw the worst movie ever on "space channel" this past weekend:
"TEENAGE SPACE VAMPIRES"

I saw the first 2 minutes of that... needless to say I turned the channel.

the oldest manuscripts are not considered the most reliable.. there are no "autograph" texts.

none.. there are no "original" manuscripts.. no two manuscripts agree.. the bible as we know it only came together in the form it now holds because certain men decided it should do so.. neither jesus nor his apostles or disciples carried bibles.. the apostle paul didn't carry a bible and none of his letters were in any of the scrolls considered holy scripture at the time he was preaching and forming christian theology as it is now understood to be.. largely, what the bible is today, is the result of certain men with certain agendas who had the authority to make their project happen.

they also had the power to destroy writings which did not agree with their agenda.

The translation of the Hebrew scriptures into Greek is the first set of lies. Then, all subsequent translations from the Septuigent are lies based on lies, if you will. (The rabbis, after all, are the caretakers of the word. Their opinion should carry the most weight. Christianity hijacks the Hebrew scriptures for their own purposes.)

They say the Septuagint is more reliable than the Masoretic Text as it tends to agree with the Qumran scrolls a lot more.

I believe there's an Italian proverb too exactly like the Jewish one, "to translate is to betray"

No Jehovah Witnesses !!!

around here, in my neighbourhood, there are many apartment buildings, and i remeber as a jw, how many people didn't want to be bothered by us jw's.. so, i took my camera this morning and went around in a few apartment buildings and took pictueres of all kinds of signs on doors, telling witnesses not to knock at their door, and go away !!!.

on this first picture, it's quite polite.

it says in french, no solicitor.

WTS Backslides Production Again - Paperback Bibles

the wts will be phasing out hard-bound bibles for the public begining later this year.. jws will still be able to order hard-backs for themselves, but hard-bound bibles will not be made available to the public after current stocks are depleted.. soft cover bibles will have a paper cover similar to other publications produced by the wts.. pocket-size bibles with fake leather covers are to be discontinued entirely and will only be available in paperback.. we are a long way from pig-skin folks.. .

Look at the Google ad this thread produced!!! I got one saying, "SatanicBibles.com... Leather-Bound, Satanic Bible and Satanic Rituals... What do you have on your Altar?... Bookbinding gone evil."

I believe that's a reference to the NWT.
