First I'd have to say the ability to break myself free (mentally) of the JW's control. That is a feet yet to be trumped. Secondly I'd have to say my art eh.

Jehovahs mother chose death before baby
by trevor indaily mail article today uk newspaper.
jehovahs mother chose death before baby
a dying mother refused a life-saving blood transfusion despite nurses holding up her new-born son in a desperate attempt attempt to get her to change her mind.

This just makes me angry at all the JW's that talked about how Jehovah helped them through their struggles (My dad had a minor infection and he hasn't shut up about Jehovah helping him yet) and yet This same jehovah didn't feel the need to help this woman care for her newly born son. What total nonesense.

No part of this world?

how can they say they are no part of this world?
they make a big deal that they dont vote in elections, but isnt having all these investments in business just as bad?

The Watchtower and Tract society maegazine and book company uses the subjective nature of the line, "No part of this world" to their advantage. They are essentially lieing when they say they are no part of this world yet they take government handouts when needed, knock on people's doors and talk to them sheesh. It's almost immpossible to take "No part of this world" litterally so they can make up whatever they want in that "No part of the world" statement and pick and choose what they want and don't want. What the heck is "the world" anyways. They jump on the definition of the world seeminglessly.

The Ressurection Hope.
by Daunt inok, i never understood this.
ok so the jw's believe that we should try to get all the people we can into the force so they can go to the new world.
but, there was a series of talks about the ressurection about a month ago, saying right after armeggedon we're going to be ressurected and continue living through the thousand year rain where people's scrolls will be wiped clean and satan and his demons won't be able to tempt us anymore.

So ultimately they can be used interchangably without too much questioning. Ill have to read that link one soon but not now eh.

Ok, I never understood this. So let me get this straight, when the time comes God is going to smite 99.9% of the world's population, then just bring them back to life in the same place and everybodies going to live a thousand years somewhere and then you will be judged on the sins you commit then. If all this is true there is a lot of pointless things going on with the JW's (Hypothetically, we all know its already pointless). So we are risking our health to bring people in the fold just so they won't die at armeggedon right? Well I hear all the time from JW's about how we're trying to grab all the fish we can before the end comes so we can all go to the new world. And many individuals talk about the new world coming really really soon right when armeggedon comes. So God's going to kill everybody for no reason. Just to bring everybody back eh? Can somebody help me understand this because I might have to go around and slap some sense into a few of my family members.

Witnesses and their "specialized knowledge"
by seattleniceguy inwitnesses believe they have special knowledge of an entire realm of which most humans are utterly ignorant.
angelic battles are being waged all around as universal court cases proceed.
all of this is happening, they believe, totally unnoticed by everyone else, except perhaps apostates and demons, who see it but for some reason remain defiant in the face of their approaching doom.. it can be a giddy feeling to believe you know what no one else knows, especially when they mock your beliefs as nonsense.

I always knew that there was something to be fearful of. My parents and the meetings drilled in me the constant danger that I face from demons and evil people trying to take my life. I was never all that strong of a witness but that stayed with me. I was terrified of school and the meetings because i absolutely knew that somebody was out to get me. Learning the truth about the truth litterally pushed me into seeing the world for what it is. And seriously, I haven't been afraid of mystical creatures and whatnot for years. It's a huge relief because litterally there has not been one instance in my life where some demonic presence directly influenced my life. Acknowledging this just made all the little demons dissappear. "Knowing" you are right because you want it to be right is my real fear now.

Forget the 10 Commandments Follow the book of Tao instead....
by EvilForce inas another thread rages on and on over whether we'd be better off following the 10 commandments i would posit that we would be better off following the tao te ching (the holy book for taoists) rather than the bible or 10 commandments.
how many holy wars have been carried on by christians.
how many christians are engaged in war right now?

Buddha's words are pretty much a way to look inside yourself for answers. No doctrine and stuff like that. Don't even have to talk to another buddhist to really get what he's saying.

Please refute: There is ONE true God, one creator, one savior
by M.J. ini am curious, what explanations are there for the scriptures that affirm the existance of only one true deity, in light of christ's affirmed deity (jn 1:1, is 9:6)?
other than the conclusion that the deity spoken of could be inclusive of christ?
(perhaps in the sense of john 10:30--"i and the father are one").

I was just kidding daystar. And I agree with you fully. There just isn't any. So the scriptures above are just as valid as me writing, "Spiderman is the true God and should be obeyed". Not as many contradictions at that eh.
