Would Jesus shun anyone?
by JH ini can't imagine jesus shunning anyone.
on the contrary, he went towards those who needed help the most.
if the jw's followed jesus footsteps, they wouldn't shun.

LittleToe,
For almost forty years I have seen and felt JUDGEMENT. I have seen and experienced inconsistancy. I have also seen love, goodness, justice, mercy. I know what it is to have lies told. I know what it is to have stories fabricated. As I said, this is one post, with an interesting complaint against a supposed "witness".
I for one am sick of the injustice in life. I sat with a friend today who went to Canada to be baptized in the Greek Orthadox Church to gain the approval of her future in-laws. I realized that injustice, arrogance, and predudice is abounding everywhere! I want all to be fair! To look at each situation with open minds and open hearts! For isn't it our complaint that the WTS has tried to close ours!
I accept your hug.

This is a frustrating post for me. On the one hand, you assume that nothing will be done. That this "witness" would be protected before the woman who is complaining. Day after day, I hear about ones who are quick to punish. But OH...they may not punish this ONE. BULL! RAT on her you say. SHE deserves to be shunned! All from one post. No facts, just a post. Immediately the WTS will handle this wrong!
I have learned that there is BAD in ALL religion! BAD people in every walk of life. Good and bad even in this forum. There is good and bad even with the Witnesses! You take a bad experience of this person and turn it into another WTS blunder, with no real facts!
Is that really fair?

In my opinion there was no reason for religion to be brought into this terrible incident. It didn't change a thing. A little girl is dead. If I had any concerns what-so-ever of a potentially dangerous animal, my child wouldn't have been left there!
Four adult people put a child in harms way....it is as simple as that!

I have always been ambivilent to disfellowshiping. I could not fully shun. It was not in my nature. My son is now experiencing shunning from some of my family members. He is not a bad person, he is a young man who has fallen in love. I love him, and could never harm him in such a way. I would die for him. He is my son, will always be my son.

Dallas Observer article featuring an ex-JW
by jws ini was reading the last dallas observer's main story about the gay mexican immigrant population in dallas when mentioned one guy's jehovah's witness past:.
http://www.dallasobserver.com/issues/2005-01-13/feature.html.
ruiz's campaign of self-education involved much more than packing up and moving from odessa and happening to meet jorge.

How did 1975 affect you?
by AK - Jeff ini lived thru the 1975 fiasco.
many here did too.. on another board there was discussion about the way the congregations were before 1975. some thought that they were like small country churches in some ways.
we did our own work on repairs at the kingdom hall, like a family.

I started hearing about Armageddon at age four! A childhood of fear! I turned 17 in 1975. I am 46. Still fearful.

Convention apostates
by peggy in.
have any of you held with signs, yelling out at the jws as they enter the convention?.
that used to really scare me!

So you all are apostates? So why are you all so nice, funny, interesting, intelligent? Why am I more confused then ever? If you had had your signs up, I would have walked away, instead I invited myself in. I don't know what to do or how to make it to another meeting or how to face the future or how to reconcile the past. I laugh at your rebellion and I cry with your pain. I honestly don't want to believe, and I hear the ring of truth. How does one go from belief to disbelief......how does one move forward.
