I still want to help. Someone please let me know where to send $ or gift card. I'll do paypal if someone explains it to me (is it anonymous?). We have to care for each other. So many of us have lost everyone we've cared about it's important to help.

Thanks Ipsec.
You know how each speaker stresses the points they feel strongly about. I'd probably be less irritated if our speaker stuck more to the outline instead of stressing his personal pet peeves. We also had a circuit overseer give our talk. We all know what the co's pet peeves are. attendance, service, and money and not necessarily in that order - oh and by the way how often do you cover your territory brothers?

New York, I agree. This wasn't a come join our fun family outline. This was a stop sitting on the fence you stupid bastQ#%@# outline. That's why they made such an effort to invite so many. Although some here weren't invited (lucky) there was a concerted effort to get the numbers up.

Is an RhIG injection a blood serum injection?

Ok,
Here is one link:
http://waynesword.palomar.edu/aniblood.htm
From above website:
The fetus bone marrow releases immature erythroblasts because of the destruction of mature RBCs (erythrocytes) by the mother's anti-Rh antibodies. RhoGam®, a serum containing anti-Rh antibodies, is now given to Rh negative woman within 72 hours after giving birth to their Rh positive baby
http://sheknows.com/about/look/134.htm
from above website:
To create Rhogam, serum is obtained from Rh negative individuals who have been exposed to Rh positive red blood cells. Fractionation of the blood plasma is done by a modification of the cold alcohol procedure.
There appears to be quite a lot of information on serums (the leftover liquid after blood coagulates) and how it is used to make the Rhogam shot. I think it would be dificult for someone to argue that rhig isn't a serum.
Please put anything you find on here because I've had the same question myself. I'm also preparing for a discussion at some point in the future.

Interesting IM chat with coworker, taking CoC into work for her tomorrow
by DanTheMan ini've sort of known that she had some jw connections, but i had never broached the subject with her as the timing never was right.
well, today i finally managed to work it in, after hearing her talking on the phone with somebody about the memorial.
i sent her an im not knowing quite how she would respond, but it actually turned out pretty well:.

Dan you are the Man! I hope this goes well. Allowing someone to see all sides of an argument and make an informed decision feels so good. Hopefully she'll thank you one day.

What you've done and what you're doing takes courage. Walking away the way you guys have can be really dificult. I'm glad your parents have reacted well. Be careful not to try and anti-preach to them too fast or with too much information. Maybe you can have some kind of understanding that if they don't shun you, you won't try to subvert their faith. I've seen that work in the past. As long as you're not da'd/df'd the congregation shouldn't be worried about them associating with you.
Good luck and since I haven't said it before Welcome and it's nice to meet you.

An Elder Told Me.... Many To Be Disfellowshipped Soon...
by Doubtfully Yours inan elder told me the book is jehovah's latest provision to cleanse his organization.. he said soon all people that have drifted, inactives, and others baptized and not complying with the biblical mandates for a jw, will be visited and given an option to shape up or ship out.. he said that if the person refuses the help offered by the congregation they'll be notified of the date of disfellowshipping and given time to appeal the decision.. he was so happy stating that this way jehovah's organization was preparing for the final clean-up before armageddon.
he sounded so convincing that it almost made perfect sense what he was saying.
i got goose bumps listening to his reasoning.. dy

I agree with IpSec. Our cong. hasn't received any special instructions about anything like this. I will say however, that the society has seen the numbers dropping and have been pushing the servant bodies to shepherd more, invite inactive ones to mtg and service (if qualified) and generally ride herd on the flock more.
It's been said on several threads already: The book doesn't change anything except the phrasing of the announcements to the congregation.
It is my belief that if they ever started an actual campaign to clean house like this they would upset many of the loving brothers and sisters who feel that someone has the right to just stop without being punished. I agree with many here who say that this would hurt the society in the end.

Okay, my experience was much like everyone elses. Here's what I noticed:
The talk was only about 45 minutes with some extra time to pass the emblems (omfg is that a jwism or what?). The first 20-25 minutes of the talk discussed how we could be better witnesses, and how we need to watch our spirituality. It felt like we were all being berated to do more which is usual but I really thought the memorial wasn't the time or place for it. Just shows that they have no common sense. I know that there was an extra effort on the part of the society to get more people to show up this year and I believe that is why the outline focused so much on spiritual inactivity and how to avoid or come out of it.
The passing of the emblems was a non-event. We read some Corinthian scriptures for the bread and wine and then the do this in rememberance of me part. That seemed to be the only real references to the event we were memorializing. There was no talk about how jesus died for all of us and that is was painful and that he suffered so that we might live or anything. The speaker mentioned that jesus died for us but that was a quick sentence.
It was so funny and sad when the speaker said "I am pleased to read a special announcement from the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses to all present this evening". I'm sure some were at the edge of their seat waiting for the armageddon announcement (it's coming on a memorial day don't ya know). We offer free home bible studies all the time. Don't they think that those guests in attendance have heard that about a billion times. That's like a television commercial saying "and tonight we have a very special announcement to make, we want everyone to know that yes, there will be a Seinfeld rerun."
My thoughts have to be kept to myself and I can only share them here. But, the memorial really bothered me. I still love God and his son Jesus. I used to think the memorial was the greatest thing ever. That by going I was really showing God how much I cared for what his son did for me and everyone. Now I think it's offensive. I never even realized how little the actual sacrifice or its meaning is discussed. I mean come on, the entire outline was directed at getting the numbers up for the rest of the service year. What makes me angry is that 90% plus of the people in attendance just don't see it. They think it was the greatest thing ever.
