We have now had two invitations delivered to us. One by Junior Elder with what could be a big gun...at least that's how it looked innhis pocket.....the other by Sister Elder..[even more official]!!!
Of course we will be attending in some back woods congo that no one has even heard of!! [NOT]
It is possible that our non attendance will raise a few questions, will they have the balls to want to come around and ask? No one has to date about our concerns related to the whole child abuse/pedophile thingy.

A big clincher for us was reading Edmond Gruss' book on the four presidents of the Watchtower. Bit of a challenge to read as there are appendices in the back that you must repeated turn to as you read, but talk about slam dunk.
I had read COC and Gentile Times Revisited, but after the president book I couldn't do it any longer. -

Worst/strangest bookstudy group
by Virgochik inok, i was reading the "worst bookstudy book" thread, and it got me thinking about the worst book study groups i went to.
once, my dad was study conductor and the study was held in an elderly sister's home.
there was antique furniture and doilies on the tables.

Whilst moving up the ranks, my wife and I were in heaps of different groups in our area. These were all an education.
One conductor would stop half way and get everyone in the group to recite the books of the bible. If anyone got one wrong, then the whole group had to start again from Genesis. It got very tedious very quickly.
Most conductors would drag the thing out the whole hour or more, like they were counting the time for it! may be they were?!
One guy would almost day dream in his analysis of whether he had extracted every once of life out of each paragraph. Loved the sound of his own voice.
Another one would do all this heavy JW research and then ask some obscure question that he , and only he would know the answer to. Talk about it. I got into him a couple of times for going 15-20 minutes overtime, he didn't like it either.
When I finally got the privelege, I found that if I kept it flowing and finished it early, everyone was happy, me especially.
in fact the only benefit of being an elder was that I didnt have to sit through someone elses boring book study.
We had the group in our house, and people used to take advantage of the situation, not respect our property and go anywhere in the house they wanted. One couple even had their kid vomitting in our spa bath! Like it didn't matter, and what the #*^k were they doing down there anyway!!
Oh they joy. So glad to have all my evening free these days. -

How secure are the GB?
by vitty ini was thinking today, how secure are the governing body?
with all the hatred they have created over the years it wouldnt take much to send someone over the top and try to "exterminate" the ones who they feel are responsible for maybe a ruined marriage or life.. i cetainly wouldnt want to be in their shoes.
but i wounder how they feel, do you think they feel secure and safe.

Hey, if they all died of food poisoning, wouldn't they get all the 8000+ members of the FDS together and allow them to "vote" in a new GB? Cause they would know who they all are wouldn't they?
So that they were actual representatives of the "remnant" and not just yes men for whoever is in charge of it?
......hahahah not likely.......
BTW, Who is the chairman of the GB these days? -

All the remnant 144,000
by hopelesslystained ini have always wondered from the time of being a child and being familiar with a few of the professed 144,000 remnant; just why is there no enlightenment coming from them?
the only enlightenment or new light is coming from the few in brooklyn, new york.
does not make sense to me.

evergreen, dont confuse "the holy ones" with the 144k or even the "remnant" or GB...

Latest WT study article - preparation for upcoming new light?
by truth_about_the_truth in.
the latest wt study article seemed like an article to prep the masses for 'new light' to be revealed in the very near future.. i have never seen an article like this one where they summarized their 'flashes of light' in their history in this manner and bombarded the minds with the need to accept all and any change within the org.. it could be for the purpose of getting the rank and file to accept a pretty big change or a series of big changes very soon.. what do you think?
what do you think it'll be?.

I was the secretary during our discovery of all that is fake in the WTS. I found that a good many people stretched the truth as regards their report and in the end, why shouldn't they. Everyone is pushed all the time to perform. So pad it out a bit.
I did help one MS out. He was having a hard time keeping up and the feeling was he should be demoted, so I added a few here and there to boost his average. He probably wont thank me, but more than likely judge me for not attending....huh? -

Why the WT says you should read their older books!
by Dogpatch inwatchtower may 15, 1957 pp.313-315 appreciating basic christian publications: .
their zeal for knowledge may even prompt them to dig back into things that were published long before they came into the truth, expanding and deepening their understanding, and ever growing in christian maturity.
do you dig into our older publications to expand and deepen your knowledge on subjects about which questions arise?

This article referred to is from 1957.....old light people..... lucky that it still makes it on the WT-CD isn't it.
Some people seem to get prestige from their ownership of all the old books going back to Russell. They use it as some kind of status symbol, but never really "READ" them. Only maybe to poke a little "intellectual" fun at Russell or Rutherford, but not seeing that what they believe is still the same kind of BullS**t thay they read about in the old books....just a different shade is all. -

need data
by mathead ini am currently doing a mathematical analysis on the remnant population.
(the number of partakers left).
i need the number of remnant for the last 15 years, preferably from the "year book" and the average age of the remnant in 2006. my initial work shows the population figures are tampered with.. i think i can pinpoint what the wts is doing here and how they come up with the figures they do.. thanks for any help here

But as jwfacts points out, there are some that they say are insane, over emotional, unclear as to their calling, BUT they still get counted in the overall figure come memorial night.
The little card that the secretary gets doesn't have a direction as to who to count or not to count, simply asks for the number of partakers.
Rom 8:14 tells clearly who partake: "All who are led by God's spirit, these are God's sons". Don't most JW's feel that they are being led by God's spirit?
Also, for those of us who walk away from the BS, we still feel like we are led too?
