We had a sister, who lived her whole life for "the truth" and pioneered, didn't get married or have children, in fact i'd sya she was still a virgin when she died at about 55 years of age.
She got the cancer and it took her out. Funny thing was that she got REAL angry. Wouldn't see anyone except her brother who had given up the dubs years ago.
Do you think she saw the absolute futility of her life? A life wasted? Promises unkept?
She could have married and had a family, there were plenty of offers when she was younger.
Yep a real waste. We understand how she felt.....totally.

"Oh that I should have to go thru this..."
by Hellrider inwhen my mother was on her deathbed, she mumbled these words: "oh, that i should have to go thru this...".
i was the one sitting there when she said that, half-way into a coma, and she sounded kind of surprised when she said that.
she was fanatic in her belief in jw-doctrine (although she was inactive the last few years of her life), and she fully believed that armageddon was coming "any day now".

Yep, secretary keeps these lists, copies of the application, and supposed to keep them up to date, only spiritual people please. Funny how if someone has a special ability, rules can bend to allow them to help with kh constructions.
The co gets a copy every time he comes to visit of the list, obviously the rbc have the major database.
Occasionally someone doesn't play ball properly and they have to be "removed".......sad sad sad...just enjoy all your free weekends and if you do work, GET PAID!!! -

The Watchtower and Mind Control
by AliveinChrist ingreetings group .
looking back at my experience as a jw, i can now see all the things that are similar to other organizations that i thought were cultic, although i justified such activities in my own organization, as we were programmed to think by the organization.
what amazes me is that there are so many otherwise intelligent, rational, and cogent men and women in these religious organizations that can point to cultic corruption and mind and behavior control in other organizations, yet cannot see the very same exact tactics being used upon them.

Welcome! It should be no surprise to you that JW's dont see the forest for the trees, you have been there too. How long had you been "in"? I had been almost raised in it. Had plenty of upsets over time as had my parents, but this was God's organization, the GB were spirit directed...not inspired as you mention [isn't that the same?]
But it takes quite a few kicks in the guts before you realize something is wrong. Why is it that you cant rationally sit down and discuss your research with any jw? Surely the "truth" will stand on it's own and it will always be crysrtal clear, it wont or shouldn't matter what you throw at it, truth is truth.....isn't it?
But, when and if you get a chance to talk about what you learn, they just go al starey eyed and look off into the distance and only say hmm uhhuh...hmmm uhhuh..... and then change the subject.
They need their own "crisis of conscience" before they may be ready to consider something contrary.

We ran into a guy in the supermarket, who asked how we were and then said how are things in ********* congregation? He thought that we had moved across the border into another congo!!! We said we dont go there, we dont go. He was stunned. Couldn't figure it out and then left us.

no longer disfellowshipped for having a blood transfusion
by still wondering in.
can anyone help me in finding any statements made by the wtbs in any of their publications to confirm this change or even just the original news release which i understand was on their official website but i now can't find any reference to it.. is this a case of having one policy for public consumption to improve their public image but the another policy for internal consumption to give the impression that things hav'nt changed?.
it appears that the majority of jw do not know of the change in policy.

No more JW religious classes in schools!
by fair dinkim injust heard from a friend whose husband is an elder that a letter was read to the congregation from wbts stating that effective immediately "no religious instruction by jws in schools" or words to that effect.
here in australia they are called "scripture classes" and most schools conduct these as part of the school curriculum.
usually a member of the cong is assigned to conduct the lesson with jw kids in local school.

It is a good thing that they have to stop it. I remember having to sit in the teachers staff room with my paradise book you know the nice orange one and read to ourselves while the rest of the class had their religious instruction. Who were the nerds? What did the class learn that was so shocking for us? May be how to think for themselves?

Just returned from the 2006 (Armageddon's here) "Deliverance At Hand" DO
by apocalypse inhow much can one person gag?
it is interesting to note that clive thomas (canadian branch office) spoke during his part in such a way as to betray the fact that he was personally aware that what he was saying was false.. it's one thing when a local onion gets exuberant about parroting the gb's nonsense.
it's quite another when a bloodsucker like clive comes from the branch and does a "bait 'n switch" the way he did.

Stephanus....you are right on the money. Let everyone think that elders and ms's are getting hooked on porn and not what they are really hooked on to.....forums such as this and the are falling like flies. The WTS must be losing a few members and not just R&F but guys of influence and longevity. Surely the R&F must question where they are, what are they doing?
There is a guy here who talks about a CO who "fell away" he says he no longer believes the bible. More likely the NWT as the word of god.
