The Dangers and Morality of Science
by Big Dog inwith all the discussion here about the dangers of religion, its morality issues, and so on i thought it would be interesting to have a discussion (especially given the large population of science oriented folks on this board) where we discuss the same issues with respect to science.
now this is not meant to be some i want to go back to the dark ages thread, but more so that recognition that there are moral, ethical, and hell survival issues with science that need to be addressed.. michael crichton as most know is both a famous author and an extremely bright individual who attended harvard medical school, in his novel jurrassic park he raised some issues with science and its dangers: .
"jurassic park was intended to warn the general public concerning the inherent dangers of biotechnology first of all, but also science in general.

not bitter
by searching4? ini was raised from birth as a jehovah's witness, but have been disfellowshipped for 13 years.
alot of ex- witnesses are bitter and bad mouth the witnesses, but my experience has left me feeling this way: being in the "truth" makes some people happy, and they are truly doing what is right in their own heart, and to condemn them for that is wrong.
as much as we oppose the witnesses and can see the real trurh, everyone is entitled to believe what they choose, and i truly believe that if someone is doing what is right in their heart and it makes them truly happy, then god will love them for the pureness of their heart.

You're going the thong way!
by tall penguin inso a friend told me something recently that just blew my mind.
she was interrogated by some elders regarding her choice of underwear.
she was being questionned regarding her conduct with a man and apparently her choice of undergarments reflected the level of intent in her actions.
