Why are the atheists on this site so hateful?

all us creationists try to do is offer true evidence that the one and only god is out there watching and looking down on us.

we present that certain scientists know the truth about god and that he is everything that we see from trees, life, weather, the air we breath, and even the most simple molecules.

but of course you atheists reject it because it is your nature to not be humble and see god because you want to rule your own life.

Why do so many JW's argue that they do not believe what they clearly do?

i ask a question recently, which was why do jw's not salute the flag, and i ask what page of the bible directs this practice.. all i got back was that i do not know what i am talking about and that they are allowed to do this, when i dropped 40000 google links proving that they do not salute the flag they just deleted it as though my proof could not exist.

seriously this is common knowledge, my neighbor just put up a flag to keep the guy across the street away.

so are there jw's who have no clue what they believe, or should believe?

Hottest Topics - New Sort by Rank Option

i have just enabled a new sort feature which should appear as a new tab called "rank" on any of the topic listing pages (by forum or subject within it).. there's also a "hottest" link in the main nav.. what does it do?.

well, think of it like active topics ... the latest things go to the top.

except instead of anyone being able to make something go straight to the top simply by posting on it, now the ranking is based on a combination of things including how many likes and dislikes they have received combined with when the posts were made.. what should happen is that likes for new posts will give them a boost as will replies but over time their effect will diminish.

but what does the information they do publish indicate about their situation?

I imagine there are plenty of legal-ish ways for people to make money from this sort of organisation. Well-connected individuals could get paid as lawyers, construction workers, doctors, consultants, providing raw materials at favourable prices, or whatever. These in turn could provide gifts and favours to Governing Body members and directors and other influential people. Some have hinted at such a culture around the headquarters that allows people to make an easy living from the organisation.

If true this would only make a financial squeeze even more complicated and painful for the Governing Body to navigate without alienating important allies and worsening their own material conditions and comforts.

Hidden message in JW bunker video?

so, i was speaking with a relative recently, who is "in" the borg, but is completely aware of the terrible hypocrisy from the gb down.

he is not in the box, and its great to be able to have a realistic, and logical discussion about the current state of the org.. we started discussing, specifically, about that bunker video that was released in december.

how it is being played at all the conventions.

I think they may be pumping up the end time rhetoric because... they really believe the end must be near. Maybe the GB have looked at their financial situation, looked at the abuse cases coming down the line, concluded the game is up, and further concluded that Armageddon must be coming soon to save the day. They are literally going for broke, in rhetoric and organisational consolidation.

Yes it occurred to me that they may be facing a demographic squeeze. If I understand the Circuit Overseer guidebook correctly the Watchtower Society has made a commitment to Circuit Overseers who have spent a certain amount of time in the job that they will be pensioned out as "special pioneers" when they reach retirement age. If they really honour this commitment then it must be a tremendous financial burden, and increasingly so as pensioners live longer.

I think the Watchtower may really be facing something of a financial crisis, the sale of Brooklyn properties only affording a temporary reprieve.

It might explain the "bunker mentality" of the recent videos and magazines. The Governing Body may realise that with donations down, and costs up, they only have funds to last a few more years. They really believe it's God's organisation however, so they may be convinced that Jehovah will bring Armageddon before they run out of money. This might explain the more extreme end time drumbeat of late and harsh crackdown on faders. They are going for broke, literally.

jw's are always claiming that they are the only religion that preaches and uses the name jehovah, and that is why only they will be saved.
