Athiests please answer these questions
by Mrs Smith ini'm not trying to pick a fight i was just sitting at my desk pondering on some threads on jwd and i would very much like this question answered.. why is it that athiest often (not always) direct their argument for athiesism towards christians?
why not direct your argument towards buddists or muslims or even new-agers?
i mean they also believe in a higher power so why is it that only christains seem to get knocked?

Personally I think people need to be allowed to think what they want, if it makes them happy and if it gives them peace, just allow me to be free and peaceful in my beliefs as well.
I do as well, so long as it gives them peace and does not condone harm upon others, regardless if it is by their own doing or not.
And that is why I love Buddhism (I swear this isn't a plug), all you have to do is "be". If you are living in the present and trying to find peace, then you are on your path.
That is exactly why I love not having a belief system in place.
During my doubting jw time, I found Buddhism to be a useless waste of reading time. I was no longer looking to be guided, but to guide my own way in the most humane way possible.

I would say go for it. I know someone who is only 30 and having fertility problems. You just never know when the body will say, "Time's Up!"

To the original post-
Are you referring to xianty vs. atheism on this board? Or in general life?
For the threads-I'd say that most people who post were once christians or have people in their life who are. In general life, though,Christians, Muslims and Jews outnumber anyone else, therefore winning "battles" so to speak. Battles that don't even exist.
Why do christians think everyone is picking on them?
That's what I'd like to know. I used to think everyone around was picking on me when I studied w/jw's. Everyone else were (still are) Christians! Deep down, I knew they were right and my beliefs had no legs to stand on.

Has anyone had visits from those that have crossed over?
by LouBelle inis that then proof enough that there is life after death?.
does that mean we do actually have a soul?.
could you touch them for real?.

I did up until a few years ago, Burn, because I just didn't know. I didn't want to think about it not being there. Now, I'm a skeptic, not because I wanted to be, but because I couldn't go along pretending or hoping there was more than right now. That's why I posted.

Yes, in my dream, once. A woman who was like a mother to me died. I was and am still crushed. Two months after her death, she visited me to say goodbye and congratulate me on graduating high school.
At the time and for years afterwards, I thought it was real. It was, the dream that is, as well as the experience in the dream. But that's what it actually was-an experience in a dream, NOT a real life experience. I now understand the difference and accept that. The difference is also real.
When I stayed in a haunted B&B in New Orleans, I was told that I can have guests if I want. Well, nowadays, I realize that those "guests" will be there if I want them to be. I could "see" what I wanted to see if I choose. I tried but nothing happened.
It took some time for me to accept that there is no afterlife, even if I want there to be.

I wasn't surprised to see Nancy talking about this issue. The 911 tapes were played and that just let it all out.
Yes, it is much bigger than the wits but the principle is still there. It is much bigger than any diety belief, really.
She allowed her daughter to die for faith. Die painfully slow, at that.
