JW's UNDERGROUND
by kwintestal inas a kid i remember hearing about other parts of the world where the preaching work is banned and it had to be done "underground".
i always pictured people in suits and dresses going through tunnels in peoples basements and knocking on doors.
i wished we could preach underground.. kwin

2 Tim. 3:16
by kwintestal in"all scripture is inspired by god".
when this was written, was it referring to the ot only, or did it refer to the nt as well which hadn't yet been compiled?
did paul know that the letters he was writing would form the nt bible cannon?

Missed oppourtunities as a JW kid?
by kwintestal injw kids are repressed in every aspect of their lives, creatively, intellectually, atheletically...the list goes on.. what did you love to do as a kid, yet weren't permitted to do?.
i personally loved football as a kid.
other jw kids and i would play every weekend until the subject was brought up at an assembly as being competitive.

[email protected]
by kwintestal ingrowing up as a jw kid i dreaded going to the meetings.
as a 3 yr old child i was expected to sit quietly in my seat.
as quite an active child myself this was impossible and lead to be taken "downstairs" on several occasions each meeting (you all know what happens "downstairs").

Of course you're happier.
by kwintestal ini got to thinking about the wt study this week (i read blondie's version of it) and the statement that jehovah's witnesses are the happiest people on earth.. there are 2 groups of people in the jw faith and in any other for that matter, those who were born and raised who know no other religion, and those who were converted.. it's somewhat understood, by most, that jw's target those who are emotionally and spiritually vulnerable to convert, therefore they are unhappy.. those who were raised as jw's are told and given repeated examples of how everyone else is unhappy.
when they hear these examples where unhappy people add the jw faith into the mix and suddenly they are transformed into the happiest people on earth, they become convinced that everyone not a jw is like that.. the constant reminders that jw's are the happiest people on earth, for the convert trigger the memory of their poor emotional or spiritual state prior to entering the jw faith, and for the lifetime jw trigger the memory of the previously poor state of the convert.. additional thoughts anyone?.

Your body is a temple.
by kwintestal inso don't do anything to it.. leaving a high-control group such as the wts can leave you with an internal desire to rebel against the teachings you once held to.. did you do anything previously forbidden soon after you left the borg?
tattoos?
peircings?
