You'd think if Jesus was up there watchin right now.....lookin at everybody tryin to find out if he's real or not......the fella would give some kinda sign doncha think? Why doesn't he? Give me one good reason WHY Jesus or his pa, doesn't provide authenticity of Jesus existence other than ancient writing that are held with question marks behind them? Why would he want us to demonstrate faith on weak evidence?

I guess, that if I knew that question I would be God. If I was God and people didn't believe in me, then I would snuff them out of existence at the moment of their lack of faith.

But again, perhaps, just perhaps he gave us enough evidence that requires an element of faith for the process.

Or could it be that God allowed just enough evidence to convinence but not enough that would not allow people to exercise some degree of faith?

As far as I know only a small minority of historians believe that Jesus never existed at all, most agree that He did exist though many of these doubt the crucifixion story calling it crucifiction.

Are JW esperiences simply Coincidental?

i saw a home video of a dc in san fransico yesterday, in which to camara man asked "what didi you like from day one of the convention?

" among the answers given was the amazing "experiences" the brothers told.. now as far as i can remember, jw's always said things like, 'the experiences show that jehovah is blessing us and is in our favor.'.

but dont other religions have amazing experiences that claim also miracles and blessing from god.

Experiences are subjective. While, they bolster your faith level, they are not on the same level as God's revealed Word.

I found that having a cigarette hanging out of my mouth, one arm tied up (as if fixing heroin) holding a syringe, a bottle of Jack Daniels in the other hand, and saying, "Welcome to 'postate heaven," usually scares them away.

No one that I know of, but then again Alexander never did quite live up to the test of divinity. That is by raising himself from the dead. This is the REAL difference between Jesus & Alexander, not "salesmanship."

this is kind of a sensitive subject for me, but i had to get it off my chest.

when i was eighteen my father died suddenly of a heart attack, and i started drifting from depression.

i wasn't doing anything wrong, i was just in shock and started really questioning my beliefs.

The elders didn't, but my uncles did especially after my mom died, and it was getting around that I was atttending one of Christendom's church. THis time of my life was extremely difficult, and why I stopped writing on the My Story thread.

Well, I say that based on the fact that Alexander lived between 350s & 320s BC. The earliest of the the five ancient historians is dated around the 50s BC. So there is quite a gap between them. A similar gap exists between Caesar & the ancient historians that chronicled his life. Hence the amount of legendary material that you must troll through to find the "real" history.

If you compare that with the Gospels, which are dated between 60 & 100 AD (depending on whom you believe), and the time of the alledged events, the time frame is quite small.

This is one of the evidences for a historical Jesus in my opinion.

And exactly home much "contemporary" evidence is there that Alexander the Great existed? or Julius Cesar? Please show me the proof.
