  You need to keep reading. Don't stop at verse 9. Verse 10 and beyond is clear. "...he who is dishonest in a very little is dishonest also in much."
  
  Verse 13 "....you cannot serve God and mammon."

  What is the WT for this Sunday?

  so my family specifically invited me to come to the wt this sunday, .

  because it strikes them as especially relevant.

  this seems ominous to me.. what is the article this sunday?

  * How did you feel when you became convinced that what you were learning about Jehovah was the truth? And how do you feel now that that Truth has been changed by the WTS?
  
  * Why do some need to build on our first love for the truth, and how can we do so? In light of the Truth, that we first fell in love with, that has been changed by the WTS.
  
  
  * If a Christian's love for the truth has waned, what may be the cause, and what counsel did Jesus give? Could it be the fact that the WTS has changed that Truth that we fell in love with?
  
  * To what danger do you need to be alert when examining yourself in the light of the Scriptures? The danger that we might learn the real truth and leave the WTS.

  Help me find failed prophecy about careers 1969?

  i think it was 1969. .

  next year it will be 2009, 40 years from the time when the wts stated that young people need to face the fact that they would never complete any career offered by this system.

  can someone point me to this?

  I totally lost it with my uncle today

  he got talking about the tetragrammaton, etc... one thing lead to another and i ended up yelling at him to answer "what happen to the generation of 1914?".

  he claims to have never taught that armageddon would come before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away.

  now, he didn't say the wts never taught that, he just said that he never taught that??

  That's the part that gets me.
  
  He can't even see, from the WTS own writings, that they have flip-flopped.
  
  He says "New Light" but when I talk about the "authorities", how Russel had it right but Rutherford changed it, then they changed it back in 1962....He says "can't a person (Rutherford) make a mistake and still serve God?"
  
  I guess a person can make a mistake and still serve God as long as they are JW's.

  I ask him...If before 1995 you were to start saying that the generation meant something other than the human generation born before 1914 would you be kicked out.
  
  He said no.
  
  I asked if you were kicked out, would the WTS apologize and re-instate you after the GB changed their minds and agreed with you? (1995)
  
  He said they would.
  
  I asked him "How is the GB going to apologize to the dead people"? (blood issue)
  
  He said "The WTS has never changed on the blood issue". Oh-Boy!!!
  
  It's like talking to a brick wall.
  
  Sometimes I get so mad I can't see straight. That's my fault.
  
  I realize now that most of what I said to him should be directed to the WTS or the GB.
  
  My uncle is, for the most part, just a victim.

  i thought it might be considerate to help the friends who have the #3 talk this week.

  the subject is "true prophets did not always understand how and when things foretold would happen".

  any modern day applications would be especially beneficial for the audience.

  I don't know about the souls of the dead but Rev. 20:10 says that Satan will be in the lake of fire, tormented day and night for ever and ever.
  
  So for those of us that believe that the Bible is the word of God, there is a Hell for at least Satan.

  John clearly does not believe in the word of God.
  
  If he did he would have to deal with Rev. 20:10
  
  Rev 20:10 has been read in many ways but one thing is clear.
  
  That Satan will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
  
  Sounds like hell to me. Maybe only hell for Satan but hell none the less.

  Will the WTBTS ever become mainstream like the WWCG?

  back during the 80's and 90's, i occasionally heard statements lumping the society in with the likes of the worldwide church of god who had very similar teachings and even believed in 1975 as being a year that god would act (1975 in prophecy!

  by herbert w. armstrong).

  clearly the roots of the wwcg were from the same as the societys and both groups were viewed as cults.

  I just watched the film "Called to be Free".
  
  What God has done within this ex-cult is nothing short of amazing.
  
  I pray that God will transform the WTS the way He has transformed the WCG.
