How's this for twisted thinking
by freedomfighter inmany of us have most likely had to listen to a talk that has a statement like this - .
" imagine when you are in the new system in a beautiful place, you will be able to look back and think ' wow!
i had a good share in the preaching work and was part of fulfilling mat 24:14".

Spiritual Motivation: 'Isn't It Strange'
Isn't it strange how a $100.00 dollar bill seems like such a large amount when you put it in the contribution box, but such a small amount when you go shopping?
Isn't it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you're at the meeting, and how short they seem when you're watching a good movie?
Isn't it strange that you can't find a word to say when you're praying, but you have no trouble thinking what to talk about with a friend?
Isn't it strange how difficult it is to read one chapter of the Bible, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular n ovel?
Isn't it strange how everyone wants front-row-tickets to concerts or games, but they do whatever is possible to sit in the back at meetings?
Isn't it strange how we need to know about an event or special field service day for the congregation 2-3 weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda, but we can adjust our agenda for other events in the last minute?
Isn't it strange how difficult it is to learn a fact about Jehovah God to share it with others, but how easy it is to learn, understand, extend and repeat gossip?
Isn't it strange how we believe everything that magazines and Newspapers say but we sometimes question the words in the Bible?
Isn't it strange how everyone can't wait for Paradise, but they don't want to put in much effort to get there?
Isn't it strange how we send jokes in e-mails and they are forwarded Right away, but when we are going to send messages about Jehovah, we think about it twice, and only select some in our friend list to share it with?

Job's Wife (Job Chapters 1 & 2)
At the Circuit Overseer's visit, he gave a talk and it was centered on being tired/weary. We are so tired in this day and age and the brother mentioned Jeremiah and how after being put in stocks for just one day, he was complaining and cursing the man that announced his birth and wishing that he had died in his mom's womb. Why? He was tired.
Then he asked what comes to mind when you think of Job's wife. Most people think of her telling Job to curse god and die (Job 2:9). The Circuit Overseer asks why wasn't she rebuked with the three 'so-called' comforters? It was brought out that Job's wife was tired.. Probably more tired that you can imagine......
Think of this:
When the messengers told Job that he had lost all his livestock, Job's wife lost hers too.
When Job was told that he had lost all his land and material goods, Job's wife lost hers too.
When the messengers told Job that he had lost all his children, Job's wife lost hers too.
The children that you carried for 9 months, bonded with as you breast-fed each and everyone of them, watched them grow up and stand tall, only to lose them all at once violently. Was she tired? ....Yes!
Then, to make matters worse, (if they could get any worse), Your husband mysteriously and suddenly develops huge boils all over his body that are open and oozing pus and stink. You watch as the man you love, the father of your children, cracks a pottery jar and begins to dig and scratch himself in order to alleviate some of the pain, but to no avail.
This man, who has been all that to you, is staying away because his breath is so bad that no one can stand it. And you can only sit by helpless, without any explanation for anything. Do you want to continue to see him suffer or would you too want him to die? Most o f us would want a loved one out of their misery. So when Job's wife said curse God and die, she wasn't being disloyal to Jehovah, she wanted her husband's misery to be over. It was an act of love. She was tired!!In the end, not only was she not reproved but, she was blessed with everything that Job received, more children, more wealth and a healthy husband.
There are times when, due to our health problems either physical, or mental, that we are not doing all that we feel that we should. Once I was in such a state. A young friend asked me if I considered Job a faithful man?
Of course, I said, 'oh yes!' Then she lovingly pointed out, that at one time, all Job could do, was sit in the dirt, and scrape his sores. That was his act of worship, proving Satan a liar. He did not lose faith.
So, next time you are being hard on yourself for circumstances beyond your control....remember the account of Job.
So we can, in spite of our circumstances, still give a reply even if we are just breathing and praying to Jehovah to get through the next minute. Whether it is physical or mental distress. We can be likened to Job, only able to scrape his sores and praying to get through this trial, yet we are still doing what Jehovah has asked us to do.
Give him a reply to Satan. (prove the devil a liar by staying faithful and loyal)I was going to write a long explanation of why Job's wife was not faithful or loyal in fact,
she was doing Satan's bidding, but I decided not to because you don't listen to me anyway.
Instead I'm going to list 4 verses from Job and let you figure it out for yourself.
This circuit overseer, whoever he is, is an idiot.
Chapter 2: 4
But Satan answered Jehovah and said : 'skin in behalf of skin, and everything a man has he will give in behalf of
his soul' 5 For a change, thrust out your hand please, and touch as far as his bone and flesh and see whether he
will not curse you to your very face.
Chapter 2: 9
Finally his wife said to him 'are you yet holding fast your integrity? curse God and die!'
10 But he said to her : As one of the senseless women speaks you speak also. Shall we
accept merely what is good from the true God and not accept also what is bad?'
In all this Job did not sin with his lips. -

Hypocricy and Two Most Dangerous Expressions
by Farkel innothing is more duplicitous than two expressions taught by their religious masters and used by dubs when all of their arguments have been demolished.. the first expression is "wait on jehovah.
" the second is "they're just imperfect men.
the first expression is used whenever lives are trashed by gb decisions and elder decisions and it is used when dub leaders are forced to admit that doctrinal garbage and ecclesiastical decisions are undeniably wrong.

Obey imperfect men perfectly is all you need do.
I was told in no uncertain terms that "It's not about imperfect priests....it's about serving Jehovah" and following the faithful and discreet pope.

More Xmas deception by the Watchtower
by ozziepost inhas christmas.
lost christ?if a non-witness were to read this headline, what do you think it would convey?.
wouldn't it imply that the magazine or website was actually bemoaning the growing secularisation of a "christian" festival, much like the slogans we see of late "put christ back into christ-mas"?
-

It's clever marketing, a catch phrase they are borrowing from "Christendom".
They are throwing out the dragnet to catch some unwary souls.
Reminds me of going on a retun visit/study with a ms.
An immigrant, who I think just wanted to be accepted in the community, join a christian religon, fit in,
and then....... knock knock knock I don't think he knew which end was up.
All I remeber is feeling sorry for being part of messin his head up.

Did you read the whole Bible when you were a JW?
by outofthebox inafter an informal poll in my congregation (and many awkward responses) i found out that almost nobody had read the whole bible ever, not even the elders (surprise!).
brothers and sisters with 20, 30, 40 and 50 years as jws don't know what the bible says.
so, if god decides that a test is coming, will they pass it?
-
moomanchu
And you? Did you read the whole Bible when you were a JW? If so, what happened after you did? Did it open your eyes?
No. I started reading the NWT at the kingdom hall towards my demise though.
The meeting was so boring to me that I would open the bible and just read.
Turning point was when I bought a Ryrie study bible.
Read through it in about a year loved the notes that are right there, easy to read.
Also bought a NIV study bible and a comparitive study bible.
The elders didn't like when I used these bibles at my sheperding call.
Yes, it opened my eyes.
JW's screen out the things they don't want you to see. One thing that pissed me off is how they didn't cross reference
certain scriptures that didn't fit into their ideaolgy, even though the scriptures were very relevant.

Upcoming Elders Schooling
by Questions1 init's no secret that the "organization" has increased it's cia, national security clerance only super-secret attitude in regards to the elder school that is going to be conducted soon.
a few days ago, i had a conversation with an elder who has been in the fold all of his life practically.
in keeping with the conversation style of jws, the gentleman told me that nobody knows what exactly will be taught at the meetings, but in his backdoor conversations with some brothers who seem to be tuned into the bethel's officially, unofficial, communications network, the elders are going to be taught "post-armageddon" teachings.

One old Witness told me: Even if it isn't true, it's been a wonderful way to live!
Why would he speak directly against the apostle Paul ?
1 Corinthians 15:19
If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.
