  Disctrict conventions and hot days

  as far as i can remember, the district convention was always the last week of june or first week of july in my region.

  in either case it was always very hot out, and where we gathered for the convention it was always very hot there also.

  this year would have been no exception since it was in the upper 80's and lower 90's since a few days here.. i can remember a couple of times when the temperature inside the olympic stadium in montreal was about 90f.

  The only one I remember attending that was EXTREMELY hot was when I was 4 years old. 1978 in St.Louis, Missouri held at Busch Stadium. It was sweltering and I can remember begging my parents to take me out of the sun.

  the major period of expectation spanned 4 days, from 17th december when the faithful expected to be airlifted from the back garden to safety by flying saucers thru 21st december when the city and surrounding countryside would be inundated with floodwaters with total devastation the result.

  the saucers were predicted to arrive at 4pm on the 17th..nothing happened:

  Wow! That is bizarrely similar to the WTS tactics when their prophecies have failed to come true. That was actually kind of creepy for me to read but I thank you for sharing it with us, Refiner's Fire.

  We did it -- we're married now!!

  june 20th marked a new beginning for me and yourschelbie.. we had a justice-of-the-peace wedding, with just a few family and friends on hand.

  the judge did a marvelous job of capturing the essence of the meaning of marriage in just a few minutes.

  (and we weren't reminded that serving a publishing company should be the #1 priority in life, lol.).

  i've been having a rough go financially lately and my job is less than rewarding.

  my hours have slowly been cut back over the last few months to the point where i've had to decide between food and bills.

  however, my sister's friend brought me a job ad.

  Yes, I am happy with my color, nationality and heritage. I was fortunate to have access to a lot of family history from both maternal and paternal family. It is great to know about my ancestry and I am proud of my family heritage. I accept and like who I am today and that includes my color and nationality.

Of course we want to be and have a sweetheart on this official feast day of love! Who wouldn't?

  my daughter melanie who is 20, is going through a rough time.

  i won't go into detail for her privacy, but she is now a single mom with a 8 month old baby.

  this day is very hard for her.
