  A question for my friends in the USA about cowboys.

  as a kid growing up in the uk we used to play 'cowboys and indians' and watch high chaparal and bonanza along with other cowboy films.

  later, in the 70's kung fu would be shown with caine going through the 'old west'.

  we even had a chocolate bar that was marketed with a 'cowboy' theme...milky bar.. as far as i know the 'wild west' as shown on tvdidn't actually exist.. are there people that believe it did?.

  Maybe you were not here a few years ago when Simon had decided to shut down this site, as he was receiving death threats and insulting emails and comments.

  This board is maintained by unpaid volunteers, they have jobs, families, and friends and lives to lead. have you volunteered to be a moderator - perhaps your equally dedicated efforts would make this site into something you could personally approve of and recommend.

  You will probably find that you are then condemned for being controlling and a censor by indignant posters.

  Many posters have come and gone over the years... do you think your negativity will be missed? Will this site be missed if Simon, Lee Elder and others decided they want to spend their EQUALLY "precious" time doing something other than maintaining this board - because of comments like yours??

  AND Terry - I agree your talents are much appreciated here, but you are a good writer, wasted on some members -and should be making some cash for yourself in the outside world.

  New explanation of Gog of Magog: Two Gogs?

  i just finished watching the recording of the talk at the annual meeting that re-explains gog of magog.

  i caught something not previously talked about, that i can recall.. gog of magog is thought to be a coalition of nations that attach god's people during the great tribulation.

  this is from ezekiel 38 & 39.. gog and magog in revelation 20 represents those with the same attitude as gog of magog.. thus, the new teaching (maybe not new, but i'll have to research this) is that gog in ezekiel is not the same as gog in revelation 20. two different gogs, happening about a thousand years apart.. .

  Of COURSE there were nice nazis! As long as you were Aryan had blonde hair blue eyes and no gypsy or jüdenblut. They were kind to their german neighbours, sharing kaffe mit klunjes torte und küchen. They cared for the wounded, and brought their kids up to believe in sound nazi values. AS LONG AS YOU WERE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BARBED WIRE FENCE.

  I cringe at how I thought it was righteous to cut people dead in the street, and soo many other winceworthy things, even praying for Armageddon, not caring about the millions and millions of kids who would be slaughtered because their parents didnt buy a Witchtower comic. WHO IN HELL wants a vicious psychopath for a "god".

  My point was not that JWs are LIKE the nazis, simply they believe in a similar doctrine of hate and mass annihilation of the OTHER. Therefore, ultimately evil.

  GB Doesn’t Believe in 1914 Anymore – My reasoning

  i have heard a lot of talk over the last year or so if the gb will eventually ditch 1914 and some have even made the claim that most, if not all of the gb do not believe in 1914. ive given this some thought and in the past i wasnt sure.

  this annual meeting puts 100%, without a doubt in my mind that the gb do not believe in 1914. id even go as far to say that they talked about that date and have a game plan in mind.. here is why i feel this way:.

  there were a lot of changes with the parables at this annual meeting.

  This weeks #2 & #3 talk on homosexuality

  after a one year sucessful fade and no longer associated with any congreation, i was visiting my sister this week (who goes to the meeting to please her husband for now; i am slowly planting seeds though) and they decided to year this weeks midweek meeting via the telephone.

  since i was a guest in her house, i sat with them in the living room to hear the meeting.

  to my surprise (especially growing up as a gay jw with still alot of anger in my heart over how i was treated), the talks 2 and 3 where on, of course, homosexualiy.
