i was wrong.
the following is an extract of the march 2015 watchtower in pg 27. the writer is explaining the meaning of mathew 25:31-46. enjoy!.

Why must we APPLY for everything?
by Tech49 ini was thinking about this today, after seeing another thread on the subject of serving in israel, of all places.
there have been many comments on the recent thread, and the ones a little older, about how utterly ridiculous that premise is.. the bigger question is why do i have to apply?
permission?

I remember year after year, at District A$$emblies: People collapsing from heat exhaustion or dehydration. ("Member how it is "disrespectful" to be seen drinking during the sessions??)
I kid you not, when the society said you can drink WATER during the sessions, an eldugh said "what a loving provision from jehoobie - they encourage us to drink during the sessions, so we won't get dehydrated."
EXCUSE ME?? Since when did I need permission, or directives as to when I can put a cup to my lips?

Could a JW be DF for celebrating Festivus?
by Stealth inafter all, it's a secular holiday not a religious holiday.. if i was still an active member, i think i would start a new tradition of celebrating festivus.
most likely no jws would come, but that's okay, it's a famiily holiday anyway.. what grounds would the elders have to disfellowship you?.

The Elders book says that if they see a christmas tree in your window, you have DAed yourself, and an appropriate announcement made.
Whatever happened to Paul's words "Let no man judge you with regard to a festival or a new moon.... the one who celebrates celebrates it to the Lord."
There are 12 new moons in a year - more than enough to go around!!

How can I ever leave this cult?
by Julia Orwell ini've been out nearly two years but it's not out of me.
i am on school holidays now til february so i thought without work to worry about i can come off my medication.
i phased it slowly, starting in early november to avoid the physical side effects of coming down.

You have left the Cult. It takes time for the Cult to leave you.
I have been there myself, the people crossing the street to avoid me, the gossip, the informal shunning as not DF. You name it. The two year mark for me was the worst, too far gone to go back, but not knowing yet where the hell I was. Admittedly, it was made easier because I had already made friends outside.
This time of year is always difficult anyway, I am constantly frazzled. Coming off meds cold turkey is bad in itself. It does get better. Find something to do that you enjoy, that gets you out meeting people. Most humans are basically nice. The "troof" attracts all sorts of misfits and wierdos; fifteen years does damage. Try 30 as in my case!
Hang in there - the beautiful country is beyond the badlands. Every step you take gets you there.

Not on JW.ORG: Wall Street Journal : Can unhappy Jehovah's Witnesses demand return of donations to Watchtower Bible and Tract Society? Some thoughts.

I have pointed out elsewhere that the Borg says baptism is entering into a contract with the organisation. Since minors cannot enter into a contract, you should be able to demand the return of all gifts donated to the Borg. (Minors also cannot donate gifts to organisations under US law)

CONFESS or COVERUP
by Terry inthe disconnect from the family of humanity......the snap of that fellow feeling......the cold indifferent shrug as each person dries up and hardens into a mere thing in a kingdom hall.....is a withering away of all that is noble, pure and innocent.. and when that icy moment sets in the rest of the world vanishes into an invisible nothing in the heart of that strutting and proud lump of human flesh called jehovah's witness.. it is the first of many deaths they will endure.... where does it begin and where does it end?.
perhaps by defending huge lies?.
if you are complicit in a crime against humanity you have two basic ethical choices:.

At first glance on the contents page, I ignored it because I thought it a debate over the BURKA.
And this subject has been done to death in the 12 years I've been here.

I don't know why...but this is what has been happening in my ex-jw world...
by misguided inso i took up volunterring for habitat for humanity in one of their restores about a year and a half/two years ago.
now as far as i've known growing up in the religion, this is a faith-based organization that jehovah's witnesses are not to support.
so i am wirded ou in some ways of what has happened during this time.. my first event was a previous elder from a congregation 3 hours away from where i live now, coming into the store.

Sorry - I must be missing something - are the goods you sell very inexpensive and affordable? If so I wd expect a queue of dubs right around the corner. it is no coincidence.
I will resist the temptation to tell my pious sneer joke at this point.

Well, let's face it - the Caleb and Sofia videos usually end with the camera panning up to the sky, where the JW.ORG Blue Square isin the heavens guarding us all.....
The brazen calf. This Christophobic religion would never put Jesus anywhere if they could.

Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT a Cult......so they say.
by Tenacious intrying to develop a good strategy for relatives still partially indoctrinated by this despicable inhumane cult.
i researched their own material and i found some good info on how they don't mind control anyone.
the following unedited information was sourced from their february 15, 1994 watchtower p. 5-7. i've highlighted some sentences that we all know are lies and a distortion of the reality of their community:.

It has been said here so often:
"I'd rather have answers I can't answer, than answers I can't question." Try questioning the elders on the answers from the Watchtower - see how fast they kick you out.
