i hope when our annointed LT goes to heaven and rules along with jesus and the governing body over us ignorant atheists/agnostics/skeptics, he wont be too rigorous with us... LT, remember us when thou comest into thy kingdom.

An allegory: The Twelve Brothers

i wrote it to explain in non-threatening terms to my witness friends the way i was seeing the universe.

that's a great story... i am the one who at first believes in the letter because of not reading it, but later finding out it's my older brother's handwriting. i also find out about some inconsistencies in the history, because all other brothers tell a different story. i start doubting about the father ever comming, i also start doubting if we really are brothers and all have one father... lastly i start doubting the existence of the father. i wouldn't deny the possibility, but i would need harder evidence.

well, there actually is a solution...
1. Epimenides is a Cretan.
2. Epimenides states, "All Cretans are liars" (or "Cretans are always liars").
3. Thus Epidemindes is a liar.
4. Liars don't necessarily always lie.
5. Thus Epimenides' statement can be true.
there would be a real paradox if he'd say: "Cretans are always lying" (along with claiming this statement to be true). -

Are U.S. witnesses still morally superior?
by spider infrom the perspective of a uk observer it seems to me that the divide between 'the world' as it is in conservative heartlands of the us, and the mindset of the jehovah's witness is getting narrower by the day.. is there really a big difference between a jw and a majority of people in such places?
in the newspaper today i read how the new film alexander was being slated for showing alexander the great as a bisexual.
the uk independent reported that one online critic has warned christians that are considering seeing the film to "speak to your pastors immediately because satan is attempting to enter your mind".

i believe the writer simply didn't understand it. he probably came from a background not knowing the obvious paradox - and thought, a statement like this would come in handy. must have been a juicy titbit for the philosophers back then...
personally i'm not satisfied with the solution offered at your link. it might be logic, but it aint logic... ;-) -

Genesis 6:1-2
by Dansk inin genesis 6:1-2 it speaks of how angels began noticing the daughters of men, came down to earth, took them as wives and had sexual relations with them.
however, if angels are sexless how come some of them didn't notice the handsome males on the earth and want to change themselves into females to have sex with them?
if an angel is truly sexless and it wants to try some human hanky panky, surely it wouldn't matter which sex it became?.

I think the nation becoming monotheistic was also a downturn for women being treated as equals of men
the "nation" never became fully monotheistic. they always had the canaanite gods, and every now and then the yahwoh priests tried to gain power and eradicate their competition, that's the way i read it... that's why they are always trying to convince people that yahwoh is the better god (and jealous by the way).
