    Bigboi,

    Ahhhh...that's what the deal is.

(I don't keep up much with the mainstream stuff).

Yeah, Dre's stuff thumped (as usual)...i can understand his desire to produce his own stuff, but....his style is really weak IMO.

He's as awesome as Vanilla Ice and deserves just as much success.

    HAHAHAHAHAHA

I'd NEVER buy his cd's for my kids, if I had any. When they turn 18 they can get whatever they want, but his lyrics are not suitable material for young minds, IMO.

Some of his lyrics are extremely TWISTED....

And we wonder why violence is such a big problem in this country. Look what the kids are influenced by, and what the media promotes.

    There's your answer.

Rap and Hip Hop doesn't have to be so demoralized. There's a ton of underground "concious" hip hop that gives a better message, and deep, soulful grooves as well.

I think lyrically he IS very brilliant.

But my GOD he needs better production musically. His beats SUCK IMO. They lack what true hip-hop/rap is based off of - SOUL.

And him being white is not an excuse, cuz the Beastie Boys kick ass.

    :-)

I think it's fair to have a black history month. Blacks are a minority in this country and have come a long way in fighting for their rights and freedom as fellow human beings. Don't see anything wrong with having a black history month.

Nothing wrong w/ St. Patricks Day either. There should be some kind of recognition for the Native Americans too.

Hell, give all nationalities a day, I wouldn't care - history is something all should learn.

Animal, if whites were a minority in Asia and fought long hard years to be recognized as fellow human beings and not slaves, would you be asking where the Asian history month was?

    Doubt it.

J.R. Brown is good at not answering questions directly.

And is it me or did he not tell outright lies?

Caller: Do you allow members to vote....for mayor, president, etc..?

J.R.: We do not form regulations that require other people to live up to what is stated.

Interviewer: But do you discourage members to vote?

J.R. Of course we do not discourage it for that would not be appropriate each one makes up his own mind

I can't believe he said that. Have they changed their policy on voting lately? Is it now a personal decision? Can an elder hold his position if he votes? How about a pioneer? If not, that is a REGULATION THAT REQUIRES PEOPLE TO LIVE UP TO WHAT IS STATED.

He dodges around 90% of the questions. Interviewer states that Mormons, 7th Day Adventists and JW's all have similar "end of the world" philosphosies. JR denies that and says they believe in the last days and they put emphasis on good news. Yeah, but THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE QUESTION RAISED! He was totally trying to avoid being compared to any other religion - I wish the interviewer would have had more time to back him against a wall on that one because he so obviously avoided the real point of the statement.

He totally implied the organization is growing rapidly, but the stats show differently.

Listening to him talk brings back memories.

    *shudders*

Well yeah, you'd HAVE to be drunk to kiss a BLACK GUY, wouldn't ya? What was she thinking?!!

    <insert sarcasm here>

    :-P

Hopefully the problem was that he was married, not black.

The French... Why do they hate us?

    by email in

we've been talking about this lately on this board... this is yet another article from msn.com.. http://slate.msn.com/id/2077874/.

"much of the french opposition to american power arose after the fall of the soviet union made the united states the only power in a unipolar world: according to one poll, the percentage of the french who viewed the united states "with sympathy" dropped from 54 to 35 percent between 1988 and 1996. but french grumbling over u.s. power predates the end of the cold war, too.

as philip h. gordon outlined in the national interest in 2000 (during the clinton administration), "resentment and frustration" have marked french-american relations since the end of world war ii.

I went to Paris last year for 3 days and had a wonderful time. I met a few really nice people and actually kept contact with them for awhile after visiting there. However, I experienced the other side of the coin too - I was chatting with a guy at a club and he introduced me to his friend, a female, and everything was fine until she asked where I was from - as soon as I said "america" that was it - she turned her head and walked off. I was also laughed at by another group of people at the club - I couldn't understand what they were saying but from the look on their faces it I don't think they were complimenting me in any manner.

I think there is some sort of animosity that exists amongst certain French people, however the same can be said about Americans and their viewpoints on foreigners. I've heard DJ's on the radio poking fun at Arabs and Orientals...there will always be certain individuals amongst a population that will not like foreigners no matter what country you go to IMO.
