OMG shunning story
by man in black inmy wife and i went to fedex / kinko's this afternoon and ran into a girl who was df'ed several years ago, (her parents are quite the rabid jw's.).
they have two daughters, and the younger one recently got married at the kh.. the older one who we were talking to proceeded to tell us that she decided to attend her younger sisters wedding ceremony which was fine despite the fact that nobody talked to her.. but after the wedding she was basically ushered out of the hall.
she was not allowed to participate in any pictures, or allowed to speak to the new couple.

It's a sick religion! In 1993 when my daughter was getting married to a "who within a year...became a useless JW opportunist".......there were some ultra righteous Jezebels in the KH we attended who said they and their families would not come to the reception if my DF'D mother was coming. This ignorant gossip went around the entire KH and many were going to boycott it. I told my mother that it would not be good if she came. So none of my non JW family attended.
For me and what I learned later from my daughter and my wife.......they were really pissed off at the a..holes from the KH who kind of spoiled the wedding.
Today I am thankful that my daughter and the a..hole she married are now divorced for a number of years and even more thankful that daughter and I have been out of this idiotic religion for over ten years.
By the way........my old KH was the West Mifflin, PA KH. (this is for any lurkers from my area who might be taking a peak) lol

Ten Years ago today . . .

when i registered i had been out of the wts for about 15 years.
the first 10 years i remained a true believer.

I wish I could put my feelings into words like that. What you said so resembles my own search for the real truth that started in 1996. I bought my first computer a month after my wife died in April of 1996 and started searching. Oh, I had my doubts before and when I would take my wife to the library, I would browse the religion stacks and tried to read as much as I could about JW's within a short time limit.
My eyes started to open even more from what I read on the computer. These things were not demon inspired. They were experiences that I could identify with and once I read COC that was the beginning of my exit. Thankfully I shared these things with my daughter who is about a year ahead of me in all things that have to do with exiting this crazy religion.
Today is happyness that we both are living good lives and being productive members of the human race. When the subject of JW's comes up in whatever I am involved in, I speak out and let them know from my own experience that this religion needs to be avoided at all costs.

The bottom line is.......even if Charles Manson got released and claimed conversion to the JW's, all the honchos of the congregation would love bomb him and give him all privileges as long as he got the magic number of 10 hours a month door knocking.
Being a JW is like an open bank vault for any thief/potential murderer/child molester/rapist/con-man/sociopath or whatever to ply his trade as long as he/she says what the "brothers" want to hear.

Other than the ones I knew that had to do prison sentences because of the military draft, there was a 15 year old from my old cong. that was "encouraged" (read coerced) to get baptized when he was 12. That was back in the late 1980's. He then went to live with his father and got involved in drug dealing and shot and killed two other drug dealers here in the Western Pa. area.
His mother was outraged that he was sentenced to 50 years in prison. (He was such a good boy) Yeah.....right! He was never anything but trouble but mommy refused to see it.
One of my fellow elders at the time told mommy that a 50 year sentence was the best thing that could have happened to him and she blew a gasket once again. The gist of what he said was......."well, if he wasn't caught, how long would it take until he was shot and killed? At least he will be alive in prison." Mommy didn't know what to say.
I'm sure by now that he has a real steady boyfriend.

Bottom line is.....if Obama is legitimate, then ALL info about his birth/SSN and past should be forthcoming. When all the shucking and jiving is going on, it makes not only me but many others wonder who is really controlling D.C. and who actually trained Obama.
No one should be allowed to run for office in the U.S. without release of all pertinent records about their life and residencies.
