  A very loving JW elder who I always respected for being so down to earth gave the public talk at my KH........part of the talk was about sexual immorality and masturbation.

  He made the statement........."you young brothers need to get a hold of yourself"

  Whooooooooooo........the mood went from somber to laughter and he was so cool about it by admiting his choice of words wasn't the best. Because everyone loved this guy........it was taken like it should have..........with a grain of salt and laughter knowing what he really meant.

  That was 20 years ago.

  after the sunday culttower study is over, everyone will be expected to preach because the end is soooooooo close!.

  I will try to find out more tomorrow. If I am incorrect in reporting what I was told, I will clarify.I try not to relate something that I believe could be untrue. So far my mom has been accurate with what she has told me.

  Seems you should have clarified first...........and you already related to something that could be untrue without thinking any of it through.

  My friend...how long have you been out? Seems like what you did here only makes the true-blue rank and file believe all the more that we have lost all sanity and are under the influence of da demons.

  With all due respect.........maybe you should think about what your mom says before repeating it. Then again......maybe you should think about what you want to say before saying it.

  Yeah..........................

  Watched my Steelers get whooped by Arizona. Can't win them all!

  It was an enjoyable game and the better team today is the one that won.

  What I really enjoyed was.....it was sort of a battle of the coaches. Wisenhut (sp) vs. Tomlin.

  What I didn't like was Big Ben ignoring Wisenhut when Ken went and hugged and shook hands with most of the Steeler organization before the game. What gives with that?

  I did it for two hours last night....

  attended another church service.

  i enjoyed the modern music at the beginning of it.

  the 'sermon' or message was a discussion of leviticus chapter 3. i found it interesting, but not particularly inspiring.

  I understand Jeff,

  For the past nine months, I have been gung ho over the Assembly of God Church I started attending at the urging of friends who attend there.

  I enjoyed it for a long time but it started to remid me too much of the cult I escaped. They REALLY pushed the small group thing and acted hurt if I had other things in my life apart from the church activities. I was fresh and willing meat so to speak.

  Then there were two women there who I consider to actually be influenced by "unclean spirits" so to say!

  One practically howls and screams in tongues at any given service and is a "negative attention" whore. Then if nobody interprets.......she does that too! Go figure! She does nothing else to benefit the church. And the pastor......who I respect and will continue to respect says nothing. Maybe here "tithes" mean too much to chastise her for her actions.

  Then there is the other woman......the howlers cohort. She goes into crying histerics and believe me........I don't know how she bends so far backwards without falling on her a$$. Then she is in a catatonic state for the rest of the service.

  So last month I said......GOODBYE ASSEMBLY OF GOD........ and returned to the church I first started going to........The First Evangelical Free Church in McKeesport, PA. It is a great church with a lot of good people and they are all happy to see me return.

  No more Pentecostal or Charismatic BS for me!

  keeping in the vein of minimus' question about casinos...how would you feel about a strip club in your neighborhood or adjacent to it?.

  Yes........I would be disturbed! Strip clube are for those guys........regardless of age............who ain't gettin none!

  Wouldn't waste a penny attending one! If I can't have the real thing in the privacy of my own home, why would I pay to see something I can't have?

  Something makes me believe that older men are getting more than the young bucks who pay for lap dances.

  i used to enjoy his talks at assemblies - he had something special about him.

  he was dfd (supposedly for apostasy).

  i had a good time on the trip.. .

  tuesday morning when i left it started raining, and it rained all the way to cookeville tennessee, then it stopped and the sun came out.. .
