i know this question has been asked before, but i can't find the old post about this.

i am looking for another area of the us to move to.

edit: please be aware, i am ranting right now, but nothing here is exaggerated.

Come to Western Pennsylvania on the outskirts of Pittsburgh. A place where you can still buy a beautiful house in a great neighborhood for less than $100,000. Most likely can get a really good house for $50,000 to $80,000 with reasonable taxes. And.................................a family can live pretty good on a combined income of less than $50,000.

The same type of house that sells here for .......... let's say...........$80,000 will sell in Florida for around $200,000 and the one in Florida doesn't have a basement. That same house in California can get even more than in Florida.

And the people here do say hello. The crime really isn't as bad as in most other cities. Just watch where you go!

The only other place I would consider living is upstate New York..............if I had double the income that I do.

i was just reading the convention thread..the wbt$ tells jehovah`s witness`s which hotels they can and cannot stay in..i`ve been out a long time,so this is news to me..wbt$ continues to expand thier control over jehovah`s witness`s..jehovah`s witness`s continue to give up more and more of thier personal freedom to a publishing company.this has continued for as long as i can remember..make no mistake,wbt$ will come up with many more rules for jehovah`s witness`s to follow...what new moronic rules do you see the wbt$ imposeing on jehovah`s witness`s?...outlaw

Gosh.......when I met you ITIS...I didn't see any evidence of horny protrusions coming out of your forehead. There was nothing Satanic about you at all. On the other hand...........I kinda thought you and the family were somewhat a "perfect" family.

i swear we could write a novel about our life exiting the watchtower!!

ok..many of you read what happened..our house was egged and so was my sisters car that was parked here, and "frosty" was attacked!!

But then again, anything they do is not bad, it's theocratic warfare in the literal sense. They most likely think that their God is smiling at them for this "jihad."

Yep........I think you should press charges too!

In essence, it really was a hate crime according to the new laws regarding criminal activity toward persons because of race, religion, etc. Why not get this to the public? Do you have a radio or TV investigative reporter in your area who thrives on this sort of thing? They would do a really good job informing the public how JW's view and treat those who no longer want to remain in the cult.

This is not something you and your husband want to be nice guys about. Who is to say what they could or would do again after a few beers on a holiday they don't ~~publicly~~ celebrate.

Good luck in however you persue this and please keep us informed.

I heard that experience in the mid to late 1970's here in the Pittsburgh area. I knew the "sister" who told this and also knew her husband. She claimed that friends of hers in another state personally knew this couple who adopted this Vietmamese boy.

Of course, back then we all thought it was WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm surprised this and other stories of "miraculous" intervention are still going around.

Today however, I think it is just more JW BS.

My suicide attempt yesterday...

just when you think life could not possibly kick you in the teeth any worse something like james browns passing blind sides you.

after listening to "i feel good" several times, including a half hearted attempt to dance to it, i swallowed an entire package of m&ms and drank a half pint of brandy.

fortunately my wife found me in time and forced me to drink a scotch and soda.

Please THINK before you make another post..trying to be funny..... at the expense of someone who has meant a lot to some of us and who has died and for those who have survived suicide attempts because of the lack of love and understanding that your post seems to reflect. Merry Christmas Good News for ME!!!!

dear loving jwd family,.

as many of you know, i have benefited immensely from the tuesday night vigils and the positive energy expended on my behalf via prayer, reiki, visualization, etc.. i had my last herceptin treatment on november 30, and then got bogged down with finals, so didn't check in here.

i had a muga scan and a ct scan of my lungs, abdomen and pelvis this past tuesday as the sort of end of treatment check ups.. i am grateful, elated, pleased, thankful and more to report the results:.

i was going through my pictures and i came across a few..... so, i will start a fluff thread and hopefully, we will get to see some of our favorite stars with a legendary poster!!!!.

Got Clayton Moore's autograph

The LONE RANGER? He was my childhood hero. Back in the 1950's at our "famous" amusement park in Pittsburgh..."KENNYWOOD PARK" (the roller coaster capital of the world) there was a stage where many stars were booked for appearances. It was a good drawing card. Anyhow......Clayton Moore....the LONE RANGER was there with SILVER his horse. I got about 20 feet from him and was in awe.

Got Connie Francis' autograph after her performance at the same park in 1958 or 59. She stayed on stage until everyone got their autographed picture from her. I remember her as being very pretty and very short.

Also got within 20 feet or so of the Rin Tin Tin cast. Old Rinnie himself (woof woof), Rusty B. Company, Lieutenant ???, and Sgt. ???? They appeared at a county fair near here about 1957.

Ok........I'm really ageing myself here, but I'm sure some on this forum remember these stars!

I know and have talked a few times with a semi-celeb who lives in my area. John Carleo....who is the creator of the Total Gym workout video and is in the commercials with Chuck Norris and Cindy Brinkley. John also holds the world record powerlifting championship for his age class. Not bad for a guy who is pushing 60. Talk about one hard-body" guy. John has the physique of 20 year old. All muscle! Check him out on the web.

Other than local TV and music celebs, the only other star???? I met in recent years was in 1993. I met and rubbed elbows with quarterback Bubby Brister when he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a complete A$$pole. The guy had no personality, but thought he was a gift from God.
