If they would teach things like emotional intelligence or critical thinking instead I'd be happier. I think there are more life skills needed than fancy writing. Chalk me up as one that thinks cursive is a waste of time.

Should kids learn cursive handwriting?
by GrreatTeacher ini am an elementary school teacher of the fourth grade.
in times past, students would start learning cursive handwriting in third grade and by fourth should be transitioning to writing in cursive at all times.
as you might be aware, this has all but been taken out of the curriculum.

Russia=King of the North, USA=King of the South? New info coming in from Annual Meeting 2018
by Jules Saturn init was announced in this year’s annual meeting that they believe that the king of the north is russia and the king of the south is us/britain.
for me this is the first time hearing from the society actually identifying the identity of the king of the north.
very interesting times!

@Jules Saturn - What do you think about it? You say that it's "very interesting times". Is it interesting to you because you believe them on some level, or are you finding it interesting because they're calling their shot (again)? I just wonder, because they do this stuff to trigger fear and anxiety even in people that act like they are out that "oh know, maybe they're right".
They pretty much thought the same before. They just bring out stuff like this to whip people up. They are good at it, and people fall for it time and time again.

Haha, awesome doubtfull1799! Of course it's okay for people to share when they're ready. I just thought since it was in the title and he was on camera that he was ready and made the jump.
I'll have to check out the video when I get some time. I have seen a few of Fifth's interviews and enjoyed them. It will be cool to get to know another poster here a bit more too. -

John Lloyd Cedars-Evans has done more to help people than most. I get it if you see him as a jerk, but to close your mind off from everyone else just because you dislike one guy is pretty weak mentally. That's snowflake stuff right there.
I applaud anyone that wants to do something and speak out. I love that Leah and Mike are continuing this.

this story develops into a young jw marriage fraught with issues that often happen in such relationships.
added to that is a pregnancy followed by postpartum depression, and a spiral that leads into new relationships that ultimately help her wake up to the realities of a life that she was given at such a young age.you can listen to the podcast on your podcast app of choice (itunes, apple podcast, google play, podcast republic is my app of choice, podbean, etc.)..

Well, I have some pretty good guests at times too don't I Caves. ;)
Seriously, thanks for the love. I do get more comfortable as I go along. With This JW Life there's a marked difference between episode 1 and the last episodes. I'm glad it's at least going the right direction, lol.

Thanks for the kinds words, both of you. Yeah, she's been through hell. She managed to keep her sense of humor through it all and was fun to talk to despite heavy subject matter.
I don't do on camera interviews on purpose. For one, it takes greater bandwidth and can degrade the quality of the audio, which isn't good for a podcast.
More importantly though, I actually did a couple on video at first and I feel like people are more vulnerable without being seen. They're still in their little bubble, nobody can see if they get emotional, and I think it feels safer for them. Or maybe I'm just projecting my own feelings, but I digress.
I am definitely more comfortable in front of the camera than I ever thought I'd be. Still it isn't easy and I have to be in the right mood to do it.

This kind of dialog exists on both sides. Yes, the right just called the left crybabies and whiners, but the left instantly jumps to terms like racists and sexists or at-right to make their points. I liked the left when I first left the dubs 3 years ago, but with a lot of friends on the left and watching the left leaning media I simply can't stand the whining anymore. Yeah, it's a right, but that doesn't make it look any better. I hate both sides and have zero interest in either of them. When Obama was president the right whined like babies. Now it's the left.
I do agree that it's time for people to grow up across all sides. People are becoming more polarized and it's pathetic. At this point people, the left because they lost and are desperate, just make things up to get offended about. They are sensitive on a level that is so emotionally driven and much like a tantrum.
