Thanks everybody! I haven't received his thoughts yet, but he's read it and wants to look into some of the things I said. He also listened to the first episode of shunned which is my wife's story and sent me a very kind note just this morning. He's unlike any JW I've encountered. We may have to agree to disagree at some point but I like him as a person. He and I could probably be friends if he wouldn't have to keep me on the down low forever.

Rejoice cos God's tent is.... Disintegrated by a cat 5 truth storm
by Normalfulla injust had to share... a former friend of my wife's, has just left our house, unbeknown to us, her and her husband have been inactive for about a year and a half, they have pre teen boys too.
she reached out to my wife as she had heard that we were apostates etc and needed someone to talk to.. .
after her father dying she was in a bad place mentally and emotionally and reached out to her cong for support, apon receiving 0 she turned to the bible for comfort only in her raw emotional state to realize that jehovah was a murderous unfair god and then her wheels of rational reasoning started turning.. she questioned things and was outspoken about things and attracted elder attention... long story short she wanted to connect with a friendly ear and she splurged she's never going back, the bible is all bulls**t and it's a cult, despite not knowing most of ttatt we all shared experiences and watched her eyes boggle at (stuckinarut... the first euphoric high) the un scandal, beth sarim, ray franz, 607, arc.

That's great! Another one bites the dust. Get out of her, my people, lol. I'm sorry it will blow up parts of her/their life, but it will be worth it all because freedom is better than slavery to a cult any day. Good for you for being there for them too. Thanks for sharing that. -

I love Facebook. I keep up with friends and I've made so many new ex-JW friends through it. People find me personally after hearing my podcasts and reach out. We follow each other's lives and cheer each other on. It's great. I had very few friends on there as a JW but lots of great friends now.
I don't do IG yet. My wife uses that more.
Oh, and I unfollow people that make Facebook suck for me. Too much politics, too many man hating remarks because your girls will hate on men with you, too many posts per day to where my entire feed is you, or sharing every stupid memory that comes up will be cleared from my feed. I make it as enjoyable as possible.

Suffern tenants must move after Jehovah's Witnesses group buys building
by TJ Curioso insuffern tenants must move after jehovah's witnesses group buys building .
suffern the nonprofit organization behind the jehovahs witnesses has purchased an apartment complex in the village with plans to use it as temporary housing for members while they work to build a massive new headquarters in nearby warwick, orange county.. the sale of the 48-unit suffern commons at 10-12 chestnut st. closed last week, a spokesman for the watchtower society told the journal news.. the deal forces families in the three-story building to quickly find alternative housing and could mean a loss to the village of $56,000 in annual property taxes if the new owner secures a religious tax exemption which it is interested in, spokesman richard devine said.. before the sale was confirmed, tenants spent the past few weeks anxiously trying to figure out why some of them received notices to vacate by june 30. others who had signed one-year leases or didnt know when their leases were up, like terri fosina-friedman, also have prepared to move.. but the painful process and lack of information from their landlord and the new owner has angered many residents, fosina-friedman said.. im just happy that i got it settled and i got another place to live and my son can stay in the school district, she said.. the watchtower society, the brooklyn-based organization that establishes doctrine for millions of jehovahs witnesses around the world, intends to honor tenants existing leases at suffern commons, devine said.
he indicated that the society would consider an extension of the june 30 move-out deadline.. were going to work with the tenants, he said.

Of course they took care of the dog, not the evil Catholic woman, under #7 there. Good grief. Don't forget everyone, they get to do such charity tax free!
Whew, I don't see how you do it, but good for you if that's your life choice and it gets you what you want. It's not easy to sacrifice like that for family. I'd blow a gasket during the program and probably end up on YouTube, lol.

So Watchtower bought a property for a specific use, used it as stated, and now sold it. Is this newsworthy? I'm not being sarcastic, I just saw it and wondered if I'm missing something beyond the obvious.

He specifically asked me why I didn't believe in a creator and god from previous conversation and my podcast, which brought him to me. I therefore answered that. In a different conversation that would have been an interesting way to approach the topic. That's an interesting line of thought though.

2018 Courage Convention video invitation
by Listener inthe video invitation for the 2018 convention is just creepy.
i thought it was some parody at first as it seems 'dark'.it begins with a young man being pushed whilst standing at his locker and the voice over says that 'in critical times we need courage more than ever'.
next, comes a clip of a male putting his hand on the shoulder of a female worker, the look she gives him would be enough to give him nightmares for the next year.

Thanks atomant. I don't know, I think it might push some fence sitters back in, lol. It's a lot to take on. I think you have to be ready for that kind of a paradigm shift. Maybe I'm wrong, I have zero evidence, but I would think that most have to get out first before they can go that far. I may be reading in my own experience though. I know if a person would have come at me with all of that I probably would have shut down and went right back into the cult mentality for "safety".
This guy that asked me about this listens to apostate material. He's familiar with so much and such a genuine guy, a self-proclaimed JW apologist though. I think he may still need it for some reason internally, and that's okay for now. I do hope he grows to a point where he can let it go. I almost hope I don't blow up his world, but he asked me and knew that it was a dangerous question. I don't want to take things away from people that may be filling some need that they haven't found anything else to fill yet. I had about 7 years of reading and studying books on emotional abuse and manipulation and narcissism and happiness, etc. That filled me up, got me healthy, and put me in a position of strength to look into this stuff. Even then it was still tough. If I still had those holes in my mental/emotional makeup I would have had little chance of being willing to let go of things, if that makes sense.
Maybe I should go back and add something about this in, lol. Make it a little longer. ;)

@scratchme - lol, what, you think that's a lot to read? I sat down this morning and banged it out in and hour or so. I put it into Open Office afterword just for fun and it was seven pages long. Is it sad to say that might not be my longest post ever? :)
