i have been a devout promoter for many years.. sadly, today, of all days, i was forced to re-examine some of the practices involved with the celebration of this holiday.. i was leaving a store, and was stunned to see a festivus pole struck down and abandoned.obviously, this must have taken place at night, and the culprits were hunting poles without a license or permit, and were interrupted at the last moment, and then fled.what a senseless slaughter!how often is this happening?.
and then, i got to thinking.how many festivus poles are left outside - vulnerable?how many of these poles then wander the neighbourhood in search of prospective mates?currently, in my city, there are no by-laws regulating pole mating behaviour.. and poles being poles, baby poles are thereby brought into this world, and tragically abandoned (and in winter, no less).is there a worse sound than a pole cub mewling for its mother?
i think not.. so, festivus people, if you keep your poles outside, please, please, at least have them spayed or neutered.. happy festivus!.
i suffer from depression and have also been diagnosed with asperger's syndrome, so it is not surprising that about 20 minutes ago i was feeling very depressed about the new look of my favourite ex jw forum, that is, this one.
i have been living under a rock obviously because i had no idea any change was about to happen.. now i am beginning to understand how it works, everything is ok or soon will be.
i like the like button and have already used it once.. now you understand why i left the borg.
Still feeling my way around, but I did manage to change my gravitar - that's me on the left in 1972, with my brother on the right. I called this picture "Butch & Sundance" (I'm Sundance).
I haven't figured out how to create a new thread yet, not that I do that very much anyway, so for now I'll just comment on other people's threads. (Edit: OK, I see how to do that now.)
Edited to ask: is there a time limit on editing a post?
at least my user name is more accurate now.

well, i have been lurking on this site for several months and i recently decided to join as a member.
i have made several observations and would like to make a few comments.. first, i am perplexed by the attitude of many on this site that are either former or active (but apostate) jws.
they seem to have a strong hatred for the wts and also for rank and file jws.
There IS another option: an impersonal God, and "truth" would be that which must always be present and never changes. An impersonal God would be within everything and everyone so that anyone could know its presence within themselves. Being impersonal and ever present it wouldn't require worship, obedience, praise, ritual, prayer, supplication to be known, and wouldn't care one bit whether anyone believe in it or not. All of those things are characteristic of a personal God, a God created in the image of man.
An impersonal God wouldn't "dictate" its thoughts to others to be turned into "holy" books which in turn would end up separating people from one another because of different beliefs about God, but would simply be present in a way that was undeniable if one was attuned to where and how to look for it. Knowing an impersonal God would reveal the unity of all existence rather than emphasize the differences among humanity. So "truth" would be that which is within YOU that is alive and ever present, and if it was discovered it would change how one viewed oneself as well as the world. It would be the healing agent of what is viewed in separation by the human mind because it would reveal the inherent unity of all existence.
look up in the right-hand corner of this page.. find where it says welcome (name).. did you locate that?.
now click on your name and observe the new page loading takes you to a top blue bar with a menu.. it should read:.

Mine was about the death of my brother 2 years ago. That wasn't so much fun.
i'm wondering what sort of biking shoes and pedals you are using.
i'm a road biker, so i enjoy speed and distance riding, and am upgrading my shoes and pedals.
anyone have experience with specialized road shoes with the boa stem?
Welcome to the forum, BetterGuyNow. It's always a pleasure to hear from another biker. I'm very happy with my Specialized shoes with the Boa system, and Shimano SPD 105 pedals. It's a definite upgrade from what I had. I'm already thinking about my next upgrade. I'm thinking about replacing my bearings with ceramic ones. I'd love to hear from anyone who has ceramic bearings.

she is magnificent!
katie kitten.
I simply cannot decipher most of what she is saying with my hearing problems, her accent, tone of voice, and laughter while talking. Some voices just don't register with me with any sort of clarity. Hers is one of them. Another is the actress playing Bernadette on Big Bang Theory.
let's say he began ruling in 1914.. where is that rulership?.
i'm hoping this line of thought gets someone thinking.. .
