yesterday evening my wife and i were invited to friends house for new year's eve.

we met them when i was a christian and we have kept in touch.

they had a few other friends there as well, including the new church pastor and his wife.

I guess the reason for posting it is in the title's thread, Comatose. I watched the whole thing, but don't buy into any of it. For me it is so manipulative - just another emotional blackmailing attempt to guilt people into becomeing true/real Christians.

Good demonstration of mass hysteria in that second video, and if some other religious/spiritual group was displaying the same behaviour they'd be accused of demonic possession by those same Christians.

how can you leave god's organization to celebrate the work of satan the devil?

it just goes to show you how jehovah's christian witnesses are correct about how persons will leave the truth for their own selfish desires.. first off, christmas is a pagan holiday and it proves no spirit with the almighty jehovah and his son, the christ.

thesaint's phraseology, not to mention his screen name, betrays him - not a real JW. The "holy Governing Body"? The "holy WatchTower publications"? Jehovah's "holy church"? Come on man! Nice try though. Even over-the-top rants brings out the looniness of the JWs so that real JW lurkers can see themselves, so thanks for that. And if by some small chance you are for real then this proves the JWs ARE religious extremists. And you've done such a good job of illustrating this I would nominate you as its poster boy.

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it's worth reflecting on the death of A VERY IMPORTANT PERSON WHICH ALMOST WENT UNNOTICED last week. Larry La Prise, the man who wrote "the Hokey Pokey", died peacefully at age 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in. AND THEN THE TROUBLE STARTED.

My sister died

just got word that my sister died.

she had surgery for heart valve replacement about 5 weeks ago, and when they opened her up for it they found cancer.

we had an extra special relationship since i was her "birthday present" when she turned 10 in 1951. this is my second sibling to die of cancer in 14 months..

Thank you everyone for your kind expressions of sympathy. I have found the loss of my siblings tougher to get over than losing my parents. Sue was an ideal sister, who always let me know she loved me and gave me unconditional support. Growing up she always made me feel appreciated and safe, and never failed to treat her "birthday present" with kindness.

My brother died yesterday

"albert" was 55 years old, and the fifth-born of seven children.

i am the second oldest and babysat him often while he was growing up --- and while i was still at home.. yesterday, albert was out taking his usual morning stroll around his small town, when he collapsed on the sidewalk.

the doctors said it was a heart attack.

Sorry so to hear of the loss of your brother. Losing a sibling is tough.
