Noah preached nothing in regards to salvation it is misinformation. Read the account God said only him and his family would be spared. Even if other people wanted to go with him God would not have let them.

Noah - Preacher of Righteousness?
by undercover inmaybe i just don't remember my dub days correctly, but i swear that i remember that jws taught that noah preached to the people of his time of the coming destruction.
he preached and then he built the ark and he and his family were saved.. i just read the account of noah in geneis.
it doesn't mention him preaching, just building, collecting animals and floating in a box.. matthew 24:39 quotes jesus as saying that the day and hour that nobody knows will be the same as noah's day, when the people of that day were eating and drinking and were not aware of what was going to happen.. hebrews 11:7 speaks of noah being righteous and by his following god's orders to build the ark, condemend man to destruction.. where do you get preacher of righteousness from these scriptures?

Revoke Your JW Baptism Vows on this thread!
by Sirona inmany of us here were baptised into the jw organisation.
shotguns shootout thread (part 5) touches on the fact that since 1985 the vows included a dedication to "jehovahs organisation".. have you publicly revoked this?.
why not use this opportunity to revoke your vows to the watchtower organisation?

On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?
Do
you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah?s Witnesses in association with God?s spirit-directed organization? You guys don't have to de-baptise you self. Jehovah's Witnesses does not exist, and God?s spirit-directed organization is unnamed. For all you know it could be the catholic church. Notice it does not say "one of Jehovah?s Witnesses God?s spirit-directed organization." The goes more to my theory what the Watchtower is inert. Nothing they say points directly to them nor specifies them. WHich one of these corps are "Jehovah's Witnesses" BTW. Considering they didn't exist until 2000. Looks like the watchtower let you go. You were baptised to an idea anyway not a group.

A time paradox with the Faithful and Discreet Slave
by gods vigilante incontinuing in my endeavor to find the truth i found something quite interesting about the "faithful and discreet slave".
according to the society they say that the faithful and discreet slave mentioned in matt.
24 : 45 refers to the anointed ones who have been appointed by their master over his belongings.

Most witnesses don't want those articles on their anyway. I know it sounds weird, but we know the watchtower was blowing smoke the only problems start when people ask us when did it stop. We are just a hodge podge jumble of unitarians people shouldn't take us so seriously. Oddly even atheist take offense to us and we like them better than religious people. Maybe its the chip on our shoulder.
If you notice some subjects have very few articles. The one you bring up is one of them. Also I don't think the watchtower knows how it got its authority. It just materialized over time. Most people have the concept that the watchtower has evidence they were choosen. We don't we just proclaim we were like everyone else. I think people think the watchtower is a real religous organization. Jehovah's Witnesses is a church granted, but the watchtower its a book company. It is sorta like how the government buys money from the treasury even thought they are the same people. If you read the literature it looks like we choose Jehovah and he got stuck with us. Because the WTS considers its self false religion until 1919. Unofficialy who knows? But seems the logic is we hunted God down and kidnapped "true" religion.

You are in deep trouble dude. The reason why is because the watchtower has very few solid docterines. For example if you try to prove Jesus is a angel, and gain ground they will pull out references Jesus is a god. If you try to attack him being a god he will morph into an angel.
Also the watchtower will print that Jesus for example is Michael then when you look it up they will say that it is not definitive that he is Michael but implied. The fact is all docterines not spelled out in the bible are only implied. Since you are a christian you probally believe in the trinity. You know it is not in the bible, but you feel it is implied. JWs just get different implications than most people it is not like we added books to the bible, it is just when we read it we see it different than 95% percent of christianity. You have 4 main arguments that are difinative the trinity, hell, 144,000, and immortal soul.
Using a "good" bible won't help you. You can only win with logic. As a JW my self I know that the logical attack only works with rational people. Also you are using a logical attack on a irrational thing namely religion. I say that you interact for deeper understanding of each other, and not trying to convert them. Because to a muslim you are just as evil as a Jehovah's Witness. Your bais to you may be well founded, but to a person of another faith it is YOU who are ill informed. As a JW I am not really concerned about us. I don't really care about the state of religion anymore. I have read the bible too many times to take it too seriously. If God will judge me adversely it's his fault he should have written a better book.

A slave is obedient even to a cruel master?...
by cyber-sista injust recently sister x from the kh where i recently attended had another meeting with the elders there to try and help she and brother x with their abusive marital relationship.
they are constantly meeting with the elders and have done so for many years over this and everything other decision they need to make in their lives.
they are very "elder dependent" but their lives never seem to improve and in fact it just seems to go from bad to worse.

So that just proves that they think Wives are slaves to the husbands. And logical thinking people like this religion because.....?
And the Greeks that founded what you called logic and "thinking" didn't have slaves. Intelligence is not the problem.
I hate it when I hear stories of elders just trying to get people out of their hair. Elders are not the busy bodies as the WTS makes them out to be. They don't care about the sister anymore she has went to them too many times. My parents have a horrible marriage same history and the elders have told them they are on their own. The watchtower advises separation but few people want to be separate and alone.
If the tables where turned and she hit him the elders would react the same way it has nothing to do with women being slaves. That is just a canned response. My mom bit my dad and he needed stitches but the elders did nothing. Most people don?t realize how inert the elders are unless you question the watchtower, or get someone pregnant every thing else is no holds barred.

Being weak in the truth or just less interested
by JH inoften the witnesses will say that someone is weak in the truth, if they don't do as much as the others.
i don't think that they use the right expression, because someone could just be less interested in these things, but not weak.
no one likes to be labeled "weak", so i wonder if this is not another way the watchtower has to make someone feel guilty, so that we will do more, just to be accepted by the others in the congregation?

Exactly people that want to shut down the watchtower is one step from sterilizing the "feeble minded".

Should We Form A Committee?
by Englishman indansk recently asked us to write and protest about the erection of a kh in bury, lancashire.. many of us did just that and the newspaper concerened emailed most of us asking for permission to publish our comments in it's weekly issue.. it was also suggested that maybe we could also write to df'ing committees to protest at their actions.. so, we're wondering, should we form some sort of committee to co-ordinate operations such as this on an ongoing basis?.
if we did that, who would be interested in playing an active part?.
any suggestions as to how such an operation should be run?.

Actually thats not fruad, but I swear it seems like people want to bring a racketeering case against the watchtower. They keep using the agurments used to bring down the mob. Either nobody has tried or they know they don't have a case and it is just saber rattling. I am not being offensive I am just saying this is accusing the watchtower of illegal activity, how come no one will prove it? Make the racketeering case. Call the FBI if you want, but I doubt it is provable.

ANOTHER WT "RULE" - Are they kidding?
by Sirona inhttp://www.watchtower.org/library/w/2003/6/1/article_01.htm
does the fact that incense is used in religious ceremonies and in spiritism mean that all incense-burning is wrong?
not necessarily.

Three scriptures the watchtower would burn if they could, for they would loose most of their influence.
Matthew 13:5757 So they began to stumble at him. But Jesus said to them: "A prophet is not unhonored except in his home territory and in his own house." Jeremiah 6:21
21
Therefore this is what Jehovah has said: "Here I am setting for this people stumbling blocks, and they will certainly stumble over them, fathers and sons together; the neighbor and his companion?they will perish."Matthew 15:12-1412
Then the disciples came up and said to him: "Do you know that the Pharisees stumbled at hearing what you said?" 13 In reply he said: "Every plant that my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted. 14 LET them be.So next time people ask about stubling others quote the boss man "LET them be."

AlanF: The laws basically sets two institutions your hypothetical government vs harmful groups. The problem is you are policing harm with harm. If an adult believes they are the wrong sex, and ask a doctor to mutilate and castrate themselves you would sue the doctor for doing the sex change.
If an adult wants to start a shun club like the Amish or JWs who is to stop them? Have you ever heard of the customs department. INS, an embargo, or a tariff? You don't see that these people (re not under duress. Your idea falls a part because you see personal beliefs of like-minded individuals, and their actions (most are protected under law) as something that should be controlled if they form church, or corporation, but not if they form the government.
If the watchtower took over a foreign country I assume you would advocate going to war with them.

This old thig? Next you'll ask about beards. It is not a rule just trolling for guilt. If people ever learn to be shameless then the WT would become inert.
