i seldom hear of people getting df'd anymore.
years ago it seemed there were a few per year in a congregation.
When I was disfellowshipped 5 years ago, there were 3 others who were disfellowshipped on the same night. My announcement came 2 weeks later because I appealed. On the same night that the other 3 were disfellowshipped, 6 were also publicly reproved.
I believe it is still happening quite frequently. I no longer go, so I am not kept in the loop as to who is in and who is out anymore.
years ago, the insinuation was often presented, that those who were inactive were actually not witnesses at all.
the point being made was that ''...winesses is a verb, not a noun...''.
i know there were published assertions to this end in the older books and magazines, with possibly even quotes from the likes of rutherford or knorr ,.
i bought my girlfriend a birthday gift yesterday.
it felt weird.
i'm 43 years old and have never done this before.
I have yet to buy a birthday present. I have given a birthday card...so a step in the right direction!! LOL I am 44 and was df'd 5 years ago. The thought of celebrating birthdays or holidays is still foreign to me, but I am beginning to open up to the possibilities!

I was df'd 5 years ago. It was right after being df'd that the numbers for the 144,000 started to increase. It was when one of the elder's in our cong. participated and claimed to be one of the anointed that I started REALLY questioning things. How could the numbers start increasing when I thought they had already been chosen and the numbers were decreasing.
It was this along with the mention of the "rapture" that caused me to have serious doubts as to the "truth". There was an article in the WT study that said that when Armageddon came, those that were left on earth from the anointed would be taken up into the heavens. I remember calling my then husband saying that the WT talked about a rapture. I remember leaving the kingdom hall with a headache. I had already been df'd about 2 years and was attempting to go back so I could have contact with my husbands family. After this meeting, I had a really hard time sitting through any more. It was painful.
Now with this info coming out, the WT is having to cover their behinds by making sure those who are partaking are doing so because they are "worthy". Don't want that number to keep increasing or armageddon will never come!
it does not seem long ago that the answer was, nowhere.
and yahweh and jesus don't seem to mind, they arn't hurling fire and brimstone or making it flood everywhere.
life goes on as normal, people are, "eating and drinking, men are marrying men and women are being given to other women, just as they have been doing in many places on this globe for as long as humans have been on the earth.
with the recent leak and viewing of the elders video on the new standard construction kingdumb halls the rank & file brobots have officially become employees of a billion dollar publishing and now real estate company, equipped with 7 ceo's and many businessmen as shrewd and as money hungry as any rival fortune 500 company.. the new kingdumb halls look like (i have to give it to them) expertly designed commercial properties that any major office, restuarant or commercial leasing company would package as a ultra versatile space!!!
the old kingdumb halls where a tough resale to the general public because of the custom designing aspects of the old kingdumb halls.
they have completely done away with that issue with these new versatile properties which can be converted to an office/restaurant/repair garage/clinic.

I didn't know what unconditional love was until I was disfellowshipped. What I found was anyone who was a so-called friend in the congregation, dropped me quicker than quick. But the friends that I met through my scrapbooking groups (I used to teach scrapbooking!) will remain my friends for a lifetime and they love me for who I am, not for the number of meetings I attended or the number of hours I put in in field service. Even my parents who have been witnesses for years (I was born-in), stood by my side and love me unconditionally because they know that I should have never been disfellowshipped.
Unconditional friendship is just that...unconditional. The witnesses ONLY love you on the conditions set forth from the WT society, which are many!
i believe the average rank & file are illiterate when it come to the bible because they are so used to using the wbats cliff notes... even though i believe the bible is a fiction novel, at least be able to explain a novel you hold is such high regard: i mean jesus!!!
