  Maybe you did...

  I raised my kids by following my gut, since I had no good examples of how to do it. I made them, from a young age, make thier own decisions, and live with them. I didnt have to hit them to get my point across, but did use "fear of the unknown" to drive home some points.

  Now, one is 18 and the other 12..... both have my trust on thier decision making abilities. I dont fear anything within our control with them. Shit does happen, tho, and I dont lay up nites worried about that which I cannot control. I also taught them that.

  Kids learn what they live. Mine are positive and trustworthy.

  Watch your language boy/girl

  when we were in the org, we had to watch our language, and speak correctly and never swear.

  people knew we were jw's just by the way we dressed, but also by the way we talked.

  We always had biker-types around the house. When my son was learning to talk, he tells the wife "mommy, I say f*ck".... she looks at me. Busted!

  My kids know what they can say or not say, they have been exposed to more than most, and I think its healthy.

  Removable face on Car Stereo

  everyone will have to bear with me here... i don't know much about car sound systems...

  the factory stereo on my car went out so i went to best buy and had them install a new stereo (sony cdx-mp40).

  one of the things that they sales guy was very proud of was the fact that the face plate comes off.

  We used to duct tape razor blades under the dash... works great. Aint nothing better than to park the car with the windows open and see blood on your floor the next morning.
