Hi, recently widowed need conversation
by lapweaver ini'm recently widowed, 7mos, suddenly lost husband from heart attack, married 29yrs, have been inactive for around 5yrs and don't plan on going back to jw.. we were very close and i miss the daily interaction and conversation.
my daughter, 25, lives with me but it's not the same.
is there anyone els out there that would just like to chat,e-mail?

I find it interesting to sit back and watch all the non-creationists try and convince everyone that they are right. The harder they try the more questions I have. It's almost as if they are trying to totally convince themselves in the process. At the same time, I am open-minded enough to know they are entitled to their beliefs the same as I am.
The universe and everything in it is just too awesome to believe all this happened by chance. I do have issues with the Bible...but that's another subject, altogether.
I'm with Warlock, when I SEE something evolve, then I will change my mind. A bird having a shorter or longer beak is not a bird changing into a man. I wish someone could offer a better modern day example....

Michael Vick Indicted On DogFighting Charges!

if found guilty he could face prison time.
it's hard for me to believe that he was willing to risk his hard earned success for this dispicable behavior!

To compare dog fighting with football is ludicrous. The dogs have no choice in the matter, and they don't get luxurious life styles as the result of their participation. They are totally manhandled and abused, and it's shocking that this kind of thing goes on in modern-day America.
This is shocking and I certainly hope that all involved get the book thrown at them! There is talk of Michael Vick being suspended and I think he should be until the trial is over.

I wonder if public outcry will change that?

you will also know that, after winning my battle with watchtower (save for one daughter who is still stuck fast in the org and shunning the rest of us), i have been fighting an even greater battle these past three years - cancer!.

Confidentiality and the elders.

is he legally required to keep it secret, like a church confessional or doctor/patient type thing?.

Just for the record...I learned everything that was going on in the KH mostly from the elders!!! Not the supposed gossipy wives. Most of the time the elders wives that I knew didn't know what I knew! The elders talk among themselves, no matter how confidential the info is supposed to be. I had an elder (from another KH) come up and talk to me about some problems that were going on in our KH, that he should never have even heard about!!!!!! I was involved in this particular problem, due to the fact that the persons in trouble were employed by me. This elder was foaming at the mouth to get someone to confirm what he had heard. I didn't give him the satisfaction!!!
I really wished I hadn't heard as much as I did.....I didn't think it was right as I knew many people counted on their info being confidential. I did start asking them not to tell me...it really was none of my business.
