I can go to boot fairs on sunday morning or go shopping or stay in bed. Whatever I do it is my choice and not just another day that is already booked and arranged for me like the rest of the working week.
My video isnt used so much because I can watch all those good programmes that are always on a Tues and Thurs evening.
On Sat morning I dont open the curtains hoping that it is raining and I cant go on the work.
I no longer need umteen 'time of month' and other womanly ailments to get me out of the meetings and items.
I am sure that others can add to this list.

Need some information...
by Andyman ina jw on another site posted this today:.
the verdict is in!
almost all of the anti-jehovah's witness organization have been completely quiet about the arrest and detention of the person in denmark who posted on the "yourselves and to all of the flock", and the society's other secret documents, in violation of international copyright laws.

Do JW's really 'trust in Jehovah'????
by DannyBear injw's claim to trust their god jehovah implicitly.
they fervently preach, teach, publish unending articles about god's protection, even baptising converts who have sworn an oath to jehovah and his "representitive organization" .
they believe unreservedly that god takes a, moment by moment, active role in watching out, taking palpable action on behalf of jw welfare.

If they truly trusted in Jah why the need for their specially trained lawyers.
Why do so many r&f dubs try to find little ways to get round the system if they really feel that their god is all seeing and that their org is the chosen one. -

Holy S*** visit tomorrow from the PO
by freeman inif you folks recall, a while back i went ballistic when my boys told me they were going to now shun both their newly dis-fellowshipped friends because that is what the society said is the loving thing to do.
sick!
anyway, i informed the father of the two boys, an elder, that my younger unbaptized son (12) will no longer be studying or going to the meetings because i dont want him to participate in or have his young mind twisted by such unscriptural teachings.

Dubs hate bad publicity.
What would be the response if you said they your boys being forced to shun their friends was detrimental to their school life etc.
What would the head teacher and social welfare people feel about such an enforced ruling on children withou v/good reasoning ie bad influences such as drugs or similar.
How would the local papers react or even a letter to the open pages could bring forth quite a response especially if it was formed a concerned question from a loving parent.
Maybe letting the PO know about such tactics might give you the upper hand, but you must be prepared to use them along with any other information that is factual and provable about your local cong without it being slanderous. -

British JWs ignoring the GB.
by dmouse inwhen we have american jw relatives visit they are frequently shocked at the difference between how they live their lives and how jws over here live.
its almost as if we are from two different religions.. that divide seems to be getting wider.
i have noticed in the past two or three years a noticeable relaxation among british jws.

Down here in se uk there isnt any relaxation of rules or deviation from wt policy that I have seen.
Although I did hear a few years ago of elders in wales giving public talks in shock horror 'sandals' and to the person that told us it was noteworthy. -

Sex is bad...violence is GOOd. :)
by d0rkyd00d injoelbear brought up a point about something on the sex forum that i've been thinking about for a while, and i'm wondering what the answer to my question is.
dunno if this should be on the relationships forum, but here it is anyways.
why is it such a no-no for kids like myself (i'm 16) to see sex, yet so acceptable for us to see violent movies?

Have often wondered about this one.
The borg isnt alone in its sex is out violence is in attitude.
Just look at the pictures and descriptions in the WT and Aw about the canaanites and Assyrians, sacrifices and other violent treatment and yet any mention of sex and love always had to be alluded to or cloaked in almost incomprhensible terms ie song of solomon.
I think that maybe it stems from religions wanting to have control over people.
Especially in the UK with its still victorian history, it served to keep the underclasses down and in submission. The only thing they had that was pleasurable and free was classed as a sin and only to be used for procreation.
I think that the only religion that openly approves of the joy of sex is the hindu's, doesnt the kama sutra come from those sources.
I am sure others will correct me if am wrong!! -

JW on a Radio Show
by Unclepenn1 ini work for a nationwide christian radio program that airs on sunday's and this week we are having on a jehovah's witness.
if you would like to listen in, go to kprz.com and you can hear it live or go to contendfortruth.com and see if it will be broadcast in your area.
it should be interesting, i really didn't think jw's did that sort of thing (have a public debate).

For interesting article on lying try Awake feb 8 2000.
The article condems lying per se but then goes on to say that you neednt always give the whole truth.
"Of course being truthful does not mean that we are obligated to divulge all information to anyone who asks it of us."
Then follows Matt 7v6 quoted.
"For example individuals with wicked intent may have no right to know certain things. Christians understand that they are living in a hostile world."The article goes on and if you want more i could scan it for you.
