  i was just pondering how the wts has, for over a century, been able to convince people to do what is contrary to their best interests with fear tactics that armageddon is coming soon, and i came up with what is going to be my pet phrase for a while:.

  "only religion has the power to compel people to embrace sheer stupidity in the name of faith.

  " ~ scully, december 28, 2006. i googled it, and didn't see that anyone else has claimed it, so until someone else finds an attribution for it, i'm claiming it as my own.

  thecarpenter, great comments. I hope others will get to read it and get encouraged to make their lives productive and fulfilling.
  
  I've combined my trades with sports activity. The mindset of the witnesses is damaging and it needs shelving. Replanning and scheduling our lives should be top priority. As I said, extract the good out of bad situations. When my wife passed away my life was empty. My interest and desire was nil. Through some strange circumstnce that has changed. I'll tell the story one day, believe me, it's a bizarre story but one worth sharing.

  My Mom passed away today.

  after a lenthy illness, 10 years in total, my mother, margaret stecko, passed away peacefully today surrounded by family.

  she was 84, and leaves behind 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

  she was a jw but never shunned me.

  Reneeisorium, sounds like a JW? Let's see, I've know about this org since 1948, but they were not my prime influence in life, it was SPORTS!
  
  I have six grown children and 11 grandchildren. If you read a portion of my profile you would see that I'm an active person and I get things done. I would like to tell you about my personal life, experiences and struggles but I'm not here for that. I'm interested in EXTRACTING POSITIVE thoughts that could be used in encouraging others. I find the scripture in Hebs 10:24 "...but encouraging one another..." not practiced within the ranks of the witnesses.. Life is not only about us but OTHERS!

  Howdy garybuss. Hmmmmm normal weather for you right now, cold! Hey I've got over 3,000 45's that should be put on CD's. My wife and I did week-end radio shows and I used my own records.
