i'm sick-and-tired of this endless debate about which area of the world has the largest concentration of supe-high-quality apostates.. without a doubt, and as the physical facts prove, the pacific northwest is far-and-away the apostate capital of the world.. oh, sure, there're a few decent folks in texas, maybe even one or 2 in the uk, and canada deserves an honourable mention, but look at the facts!.

A little 'off' topic:
I went and bought some wheat flower and made some unleven bread the way it is supposed to be made and also discovered the stuff they are using does not resemble the wheat bread , I think they use other kinds of flower which again I feel the wheat is the important factor in it . It's actually not bad tasting you can put honey or jelly on it and it is healthy
1st. what IS the memorial date?
2nd. If I wanted to celebrate the 'Last Supper' at home -- what is the Recipe for the bread ?
Also, no offense to anyone, but, I tend to avoid super long posts where theres's a lot of scriptures listed to try and support a particular 'theory'. I had too much of that in the dubs and could care less now. That is just my opinion, but, I believe the majority here may feel the same. A shorter post that gets to the point quickly, is better than one where us feeble-minded one 'get lost' as to what the point is.

Visit From Elders
by laurelin init's been awhile since i've been on here.
due to death in the family, chicken pox in children and other nasty things.. i posted here awhile ago about things i had found the unsettled me.
i was due to have a visit from two elders and a lot of you gave me lots of help and encouragement.. well, the two elders visited and i have to admit that it was nothing like i expected.. they sat down, and told me straight away that there was nothing i could say or ask that would hurt me.

I have to jump in here with my 2 cents worth:
I was a loyal dub for 35 years. My then JW wife and I believed -- totally, what we were taught by the Org. about blood.
This is not always a black & white issue. Are blood transfusions safe or dangerous...? YES !
One of my children when born had a condition that the Doctors felt they needed to take frequent blood samples to check oxygen levels. After a while, they said, very soon our child would become anemic, BECAUSE of the loss of blood FROM the testing! They said, a blood transfusion would be required... No, we said, we're JW's, They threatened Court Orders. We had a fight on our hands.
Meanwhile, another child with the exact condition was made anemic by the same testing, received a blood transfusion. And died 2 days later from renal shut-down...a rather common side-effect from too many dead blood cells overloading the kidneys.
We demanded another way to test O2 levels to keep this from happening, we were ready to go to court or find a 'Witness friendly' Doctor to help us, when a foreign intern Doctor let us know about a NEW O2 test, he learned about in Med school. The crises was avoided.
In retrospect, in our particular situation, because of our beliefs...I still think we saved our child's life.
Years later -- my JW Mom has come down with Cancer (it was missed) a few days before she dies...from lack of O2...her own blood supply was not enough. Doctors say her heart, lungs, etc are strong, she's just not getting enough O2 and needs a blood transfusion... She had not been clear about all the 'blood fractions' which JW's are allowed by the Org.
My siblings had a JW Hospital Liason Elder come to the hosp. to 'help'. They decided my Mom would want the 'strictest' interpretation...nothing. I went into a rage... THEY were making a decision behind my father's back and it wasn't right, I was going to tell our Dad about it. They convinced me to keep my mouth shut, because our Dad would 'not understand'.
THAT is what was presented to our non-JW father, he, wanting to honor her wishes...went along with their advice. He knows NOTHING of the SECRET meeting of my bros./sisters, the elder and ME...my Dad could have allowed much more treatment, which may have saved my Mom's life.
I believe her life would have been saved by a transfusion...
To my undying shame...I let my siblings have their JW way...
Now...I feel Guilty...this will follow me til I die.
Recently, when I had my back surgery...I told my doctor, if blood was absolutely necessary...do it.
Later, one of my sisters asked (knowing I've been inactive a few years) "But, how was the Doctor about the Blood issue?" "Fine, says I, no problem at all."
None was needed for me, My Mom is dead tho'...and with a JW conscience -- my siblings have 'guiltless' conscience about it.
I know I'm guilty... What a great religion this is, eh?

JW friend is now JW bf, help.

everything was fine, we'd talk, watch movies etc.
then i started to feel different towards him, i started to like him.

I agree with her, too. Human emotions are the most powerful force on earth, I think. Please ponder on what everyone has said, they are speaking from true experiences.
Here's another thing about JW's that I do not think has been mentioned. HE may may very stong feelings towards you, too. The reason you're getting strange vibes from him might be this -- he may be in a terrific struggle with his JW manufactured 'conscience'. Remember...you were told by another poster...he cannot date you if you are not a JW? That is true...do you know what can happen to him if he does? He could be 'disfellowshipped', this means he will lose all of his friends, relatives and even his Mom & Dad, his brothers and sisters who are JW's ! How? They will NEVER speak to him again, they will avoid any contact...like he and you have the plague. They wll NEVER accept you into their family or his circle of friends, as they are to have 'nothing to do with non-believers'.
He knows this. Maybe he trying to 'get out', he is sure not following their rules. This is serious shit, it's WHY he's never brought you home to 'meet the folks'. If you ever have sex with him, he may feel compelled to 'turn himself in', possibly getting disfellowshipped for that...and a lot more things.
I hope he can get out...it will be very hard. You should know what you're getting into. Like others said, "Read this forum." Especially, any topics you see about 'Disfellowshipping'
Ask him about all of this...
